The Daily Bread Food Pantry is an ecumenical food pantry servicing the Greater Danbury community. Its mission is to help those in need of food, whatever their circumstances, and maintain the dignity of clients in a compassionate and caring atmosphere.  The Daily Bread Food Pantry is located in the rear building at St. James' Episcopal Church, Danbury.

The Jewish tradition teaches us that we should offer a blessing of gratitude every time we see a rainbow. In this spirit, on Friday, June 28, we will come together for our annual Pride Shabbat where we will celebrate the beautiful rainbow of human experience and honor the movement for LGBTQ equality. Thank you to the anonymous member family sponsoring the flowers and oneg.
 
Pride Torah Study -  Saturday, June 29 at 9:30 am
Join Rabbi Bearman for this special Torah Study. We will explore LGBTQ themes in our weekly Torah as well as other texts of our movement tracing the journey the movement has taken to embrace, support, and celebrate the LGBTQ community, and discuss where we hope to see more progress in the future.
 
Shabbat Family Service with Preneg, Friday, July 5
      
We will be continuing our Birthday Book Minhag (Custom)! Everyone 13 and under who is celebrating a birthday in April will receive the gift of a Jewish book.
   
Join us for another fun Shabbat Family Service starting at 6:00 pm with a kid-friendly preneg (pizza & veggies). At 6:30 pm, song, story and worship will be followed by a birthday celebration and oneg with a certified nut-free option at the dessert table.  If you will be attending the preneg, make sure to RSVP .   Save the date for the Shabbat Family Service on August 2!   Share your simcha! Sponsor a pre-neg, oneg, or flowers!  
BIRTHDAY BOOKS: A New TBC Minhag (Custom)

We will be honoring the month's birthdays at Family Services by presenting everyone celebrating with the gift of a TBC Birthday Book!

If there are Jewish children's books that your family has loved, we would very much appreciate the donation of gently used copies. If your family loved the books a little too much, please consider purchasing and donating a new copy of your old favorite.

We're hoping to collect books for everyone from 1 to 13 years old. There is a basket in the front lobby labeled "Birthday Book Donations". Any donated books that aren't used as "Birthday Books" will be incorporated into our Carol J. Metzger Children's Library.
