Journey to Passover

Community Passover Seder

This year TBC will welcome members and guests to a Community Passover Seder, on Saturday, April 4 (Second Night of Passover). Doors open at 5:30 pm, the Seder begins at 6:00 pm. This will be the first Passover Seder we've had at TBC in a number of years and a great opportunity to meet together with congregants and friends and strengthen our community. The event is open to all, and members are encouraged to invite their non-TBC friends and acquaintances, of any denomination!

The event will be catered, with hors d'oeuvres, a Kosher-style dinner and vegetarian options. The cost will be $22 for adults, $14 for children ages 4-14; children under 4 are free. Please R.S.V.P. using this link, or call your reservation in to the TBC Office at (203) 544-8695.

Passover Stories

Every member of TBC has a Jewish journey or personal story that leads to Passover and its celebration of liberation. This year we are inviting congregants to remember and share their personal journeys and to contribute their thoughts and memories to post to our new Journey to Passover Stories blog. They can be simple and brief or they can be longer stories. Please participate by sending your story to Susan Farber at membership@templebnaichaim.org.

Passover Plates

To bring a greater sense of Passover spirit to TBC, we're asking members to contribute photos of their families' Seder plates! Please take a high- resolution picture of your plate and send the image to archive@templebnaichaim.org. Photos received will be included in our seder plate collage at TBC!  Click here to see the photos we've already received.

Support JFS Passover Basket Project

Danbury Jewish Family Services (JFS) has taken up the challenge of ensuring that everyone in the Greater Danbury Jewish community is able to celebrate Passover holiday nutritiously, ritually and with pride of heritage. TBC has participated in this project for many years. Coordinating with the Danbury Jewish Family Serivces we are working to ensure that those families in need can celebrate Passover by providing grocery store gift cards and some Passover items.

For some, Passover can be a significant financial burden. This is especially true in these challenging economic times. We support this effort by providing Kosher for Passover food and grocery store gift cards so the families can make purchases on their own. JFS adds "seder" staples (wine, plate, Haggadot, etc.). This will enable recipients to have the foods they need for the Seder and to observe our traditions. Seeking donations to the Tzedaka Fund in support of this most important project.

Help Make TBC Part of the Conversation

Someone once referred to TBC as Fairfield County's "best kept secret" for Reform families. We need you to make us "less of a secret." Under Rabbi Bearman's spiritual leadership, there are great things ahead. Let's share the joy of TBC and continue to attract new families to our
community. Here's what you can do:
  • Invite potential members to upcoming TBC events: The Community Passover Seder (April 4), Shabbat Services, an adult education event...

  • Introduce TBC to friends and family who are new to the area, unaffiliated, or who might be interested in a new Judaic experience for their family.
If you know of families who are interested in TBC, please email their contact information to Deborah List or Susan Farber at membership@templebnaichaim.org.

Spread the word to friends, neighbors, new additions to your town.
A robust membership serves many purposes and will make us a richer, broader, more vibrant community. Help us 'sing our own praises' and be a part of  expanding our membership for the future...and for NOW.
