More Volunteers Needed Dec. 24-30!
O verflow Homeless Shelter volunteers arrive at the First Congregational Church, 164  Deer Hill Avenue,  Danbury at 9:00 pm and stay until 7:00 am. Each night there are two volunteers, usually one male and one female. We typically cover 3 weeks each season.  The dates are December 24 to December 30, January 28 to February 3, and February 25 to March 3

Join us for another fun Shabbat Family Service starting at  6:00 pm with a kid-friendly   preneg   (pizza & veggies). At 6:30 pm, song, story and worship will be followed by a birthday celeb ration and oneg with a certified nut-free option at the dessert table. If you will be attending the preneg, make sure to  RSVP

Men's Club Event With Ross Tartell, January 13
The TBC Men's Club will be hosting a special non-political event. We will feature a conversation with Ross Tartell, a Men's Club member, on running for office in these unusual political times. We will have coffee and ... as we sit and discuss this interesting issue. The event will be: S unday, January 13, 10:00 am - 12:00 pm , at Temple B'nai Chaim. Social Action Update
Rise Against Hunger meals from the October 20 packaging event are going out as part of two separate shipments: one to Uganda (on December 20) and one to Guatemala (in January). There were 145,000 of our meals in total!

It is not too late to donate to the Tzedakah Fund for Hanukkah Gift Cards for Jewish families being served by Wilton Social Services.  There are 12 children in need and any amount of support is greatly appreciated.
New Jewish Senior Services Hospice Volunteer Training Dates
Chaifetz Family Hospice will be holding a 2-Day Hospice Training for people interested in giving their time and compassion to JSS clients in Fairfield County.  Training will be held at Jewish Senior Services, 4200 Park Avenue, Bridgeport, CT on Sunday, January 27th and Sunday, February 3rd from 9 am-5 pm. Training materials and meals will be provided free of charge.  If you would like to sign up or to learn more about hospice training, please contact Ellen Ashkins at (203) 365-6417 or by email .
Inscribe Your Leaf on the Tree of Life Today!
Whether you celebrate a birth, Bar/Bat Mitzvah, wedding, anniversary or other special event, inscribing th e event on the leaves of the Tree of Life will ensure your memories shine brightly at Temple B'Nai Chaim for years to come.

It's easy to order - just fill out the Tree of Life order form. Each leaf costs $300 and will be engraved upon receipt of the completed order form and full payment. Your leaf will be placed on the tree within 6-8 weeks after the order is placed. Examples of leaves may be seen here.  Contact treeoflife@templebnaichaim.org if you have any questions. 

Common Threads

While our Upper Fairfield County Federation is a community of communities, we are also a vast library of stories and a vibrant garden with interconnected roots. This year, with the coordination and leadership of our Federation, many of those communities - congregations, organizations, and others - have joined together to create Common Threads, a year-long project to explore our diverse ancestry and heritage and how it weaves together into our strong and integrated Upper Fairfield County community. Share Your Simcha - Sponsor a Preneg, Oneg or Flowers!

A great way of celebrating special simchas, such as birthdays, anniversaries, graduations, the birth of a child or grandchild, is sharing your nachas with the entire congregation by sponsoring the Shabbat Oneg, preneg or flowers for the Friday of your special week. We will arrange for the flowers, food, and set-up, you just make a minimum donation of $125 for an Oneg, $180 for a Preneg or $250 for the flowers. Sponsor a Shabbat!
