Passover Message from the Rabbi
Dear TBC Community,
Passover has always been my favorite holiday. I love the traditions, the stories, the songs. I love the food... even the gefilte fish. And, most of all, I love that it is a holiday that we celebrate with family, friends, and neighbors.
I am so excited that this year we have the opportunity to celebrate Passover as one, extended, TBC family. At our Community Passover Seder, our tables will be full of community members. We will read from a haggadah created by and for our community. We will eat delicious food prepared and organized by our community. And we will recount the Israelites' journey to freedom as a diverse and committed Jewish community. Passover is a holiday meant to be celebrated as a family, and on April 4th, the TBC family will celebrate with sincerity, warmth, and joy.
I hope to see you at our Community Passover Seder. It's going to be a wonderful evening!
B'vrachah, Rabbi Rachel Bearman

Full House for Community Passover Seder Thanks to everyone for the wonderful response to this week's Community Seder. We have a full house for Saturday evening (145 participants from age 2 to 90) and are excited to use our new TBC Haggadah with leadership by our Rabbi and Cantor. Doors open at 5:30, the Seder begins at 6:00 and the feast starts at 7:00. Whether you are attending the Seder or not, there is still time to send in a picture of your favorite Seder plate to build our beautiful archive and to add your favorite Passover story to our blog. |
Support JFS Passover Basket Project: It's Not Too Late!
Danbury Jewish Family Services (JFS) has taken up the challenge of ensuring that everyone in the Greater Danbury Jewish community is able to celebrate Passover holiday nutritiously, ritually and with pride of heritage. We support this effort by providing Kosher for Passover food and grocery store gift cards so the families can make purchases on their own. JFS adds "seder" staples (wine, plate, Haggadot, etc.). This will enable recipients to have the foods they need for the Seder and to observe our traditions. Seeking donations to the Tzedaka Fund in support of this most important project. B'nai Mitzvah Projects
A number of our B'nai Mitzvah students have asked to have their mitzvah projects highlighted on the TBC website. They include:
Jimmy Curto, Grace Goldberg, Maden Herve, Jack Potash, Drew Saumier, and Ethan Klotz, in some cases students are seeking help from the congregation in making their projects successful. Please take a look
by clicking here!
All students preparing for their bat and bar mitzvahs are encouraged to complete a mitzvah project profile so that information about their project can be posted on the TBC website.

Celebrate Cantor Sobel's 25 Years
In the next few weeks we will kick off our Annual Fund Raiser which will culminate in a Shabbat Celebration and Special Oneg to celebrate TBC's history and Cantor Sobel's 25 years at TBC. We have so much to celebrate and will be reaching out to everyone to participate in some way. Please save the date, June 5th
, to attend a very special service and event and begin thinking about the many ways you can contribute to our Annual Fund Raiser in Cantor Sobel's honor.
If you'd like to get more involved in this exciting program, please contact Dina Gumins.
