On Sunday afternoon, the Diyanet Mosque of New Haven, was deliberately set on fire. It is fortunate that no one was hurt, but the building sustained enough damage that the community will not be able to gather within its walls to break their fast during Ramadan. Annual Congregational Meeting

At Temple B'nai Chaim there are two Congregational meetings each year, held in November and May. You are encouraged to attend what promises to be an important and informative meeting; this is your opportunity to provide input to the direction of our synagogue.  Of particular interest this time are the presentation and vote on our budget, a security update and vision for next year (see the Call to Annual Congregation Meeting).

To conduct official synagogue business, we need a quorum of attendees from 15 percent of our member units. Come, be counted in the quorum, and have your voice be heard!

The Daily Bread Food Pantry is an ecumenical food pantry servicing the Greater Danbury community. Its mission is to help those in need of food, whatever their circumstances, and maintain the dignity of clients in a compassionate and caring atmosphere.
The Daily Bread Food Pantry is located in the rear building at St. James' Episcopal Church, Danbury.

In this spirit, on Friday, June 28, we will come together for our annual Pride Shabbat where we will celebrate the beautiful rainbow of human experience and honor the movement for LGBTQ equality.
 
Pride Torah Study -  Saturday, June 29 at 9:30 am
Join Rabbi Bearman for this special Torah Study. We will explore LGBTQ themes in our weekly Torah as well as other texts of our movement tracing the journey the movement has taken to embrace, support, and celebrate the LGBTQ community, and discuss where we hope to see more progress in the future.

  It is traditional to light a memorial candle on the eve of the yahrzeit at home and to recite 
Kaddish when lighting the yahrzeit candle. It is also a custom to make donations in memory of loved ones around the time.
