Happy Anniversary to Us!
Celebrating through Zoom did not dampen our joy. Over 70 ChaiVillagers and friends gathered on Sunday to commemorate our 4th Anniversary with a joyous program of music, video, testimonials and fun. Many thanks to Wendy Plottel and members of the event committee for a fantastic party. See More Photos.

In the Time of Covid
Is 70 the new 90? In a recent article in The New York Jewish Week , Rabbi Geller talked about our mutual experience of being the generation most susceptible to coronavirus and the challenges we are facing.

Introduce Yourself: Nina Borwick
What's Your Story?
Hello, my name is Nina Borwick and I am a proud native New Yorker, born in Manhattan and raised mostly in Queens. My career began in the literary agency and publishing worlds, and I eventually became an executive in motion picture film development for Columbia Pictures.

Director's Corner
Devorah Servi
What a fabulous 4th Anniversary we celebrated on Sunday! I felt proud & nostalgic while viewing the past year’s activities through the stunning video montage.

As we look to 2020-2021, we are excited about several new initiatives. One, led by Idelle Davidson and Janet Noah, is the Every Voice, Every Vote postcardwriting campaign to combat voter suppression. Another one, with David Feldheim and Sue Shachar at the helm, is our Natan funded project to create a few model intergenerational programs that could be replicated in other villages and synagogues. Finally, as we are sheltering in place much longer than expected, how can we ensure that we all stay connected and in good mental and physical health? Are there additional Caring Connections services we need to create? Should we setup of neighborhood call groups? The possibilities are infinite! What are your ideas?

Dealing with Dementia Alone?
Devorah would like to recommend a book that brings her comfort, called Broken Fragments , edited by Douglas J. Kohn. This Jewishly infused anthology is composed of personal family experiences of Alzheimer’s Disease through diagnosis, adaptation and moving on. If you would like to discuss the book or your situation with Devorah (310-592-0321) or with our Social Worker, Nina Reinis (323-600-5722), please don’t hesitate to reach out. It’s too difficult to deal with dementia alone.
