Board Recognition Shabbat This Friday, April 20, at 7:30 pm

TBC is blessed by the generous spirits of so many of our members. Every year, hundreds of people contribute their time, energy and resources as they work to strengthen our community. In addition to the support of all of our volunteers, we are blessed to have the commitment and leadership of those who sit on the Board of Trustees. Our officers, committee chairs, trustees at large and auxiliary representatives give selflessly of themselves to better our congregation. On  April 20th we will come together to thank them for everything they do.

Join us as we honor our Board of Trustees and thank them for their service to our community!

The flowers and oneg for this festive Shabbat celebration will be provided by an anonymous donor. (Thanks!)

Men's Club Beer Tasting - Thursday, May 3 at 7:45 pm

The Men's Club will be sponsoring a beer tasting at the Redding Beer Company, 7 Main Street in Redding on May 3 at 7:45 pm. Jim Baulsir, husband of our temple President, Cindy, runs and owns the brewery with his son Dave. As to the brewery, Jim says, "We wanted to create a warm and casual environment for our Redding neighbors, as well as craft beer lovers from around the world." Check it out.  All Men's Club members are welcome to attend for free.
Deli and Movie Night - Saturday, May 5 at 6:30 pm

Join us for a fun adult (post b'nai mitzvah age) evening with friends starting with a community Havdalah. We will have an old fashioned dinner of Jewish deli followed by the movie, 'The Women's Balcony'.  The cost is $18 per person.  RSVP here . Questions: Contact Ria Miller.

About The Women's Balcony: An accident during a bar mitzvah celebration leads to a gender rift in a devout Orthodox community in Jerusalem, in this rousing, good-hearted tale about women speaking truth to patriarchal power.

When the women's balcony in an Orthodox synagogue collapses, leaving the rabbi's wife in a coma and the rabbi in shock, the congregation falls into crisis. Charismatic young Rabbi David appears to be a savior after the accident, but slowly starts pushing his fundamentalist ways and tries to take control. This tests the women's friendships and creates an almost Lysistrata-type rift between the community's women and men. An utterly enjoyable and thought-provoking film.
Volunteers Needed for Young Cystic Fibrosis Patients -
Driving and Dinner Meals!

From Jane Alexander:  Wi-ACT is in search of volunteers to do driving from Wilton to Stamford and/or to provide dinners for young Cystic Fibrosis patients from abroad. These patients, typically in their teens but as young as 5 years old, are treated pro bono for three weeks at Wi-ACT Steering Committee Member Dr. Hossein Sadeghi's pulmonology clinic in Stamford. The results of this treatment are truly lifegiving: if these children do not receive this treatment, they will likely die within several years (or even less). If you would like to volunteer, please email Wi-ACT Steering Committee Member Linda Rost at lrost0411@gmail.com.  Thank you, Jane.
