Funds, Food and Volunteers Needed for Dorothy Day House!

From TBC Social Action: Recently the number of people appearing at the door has increased significantly. Given the economic pressures many people are under and resulting food insecurity, it is likely that this number may increase further. This means we will need more donations.

Our need for afternoon volunteers (from 2:00 pm to 4:30 pm) is also increasing. We were adequately staffed with two people a day, but now we will require a third person. If you are 60 or under and available, please let me know.  If you have extra commercial masks or can make homemade masks, please bring them down so we can distribute them to the guests. Since we are likely not to need non-perishable food donations (ex soup) for a while, we are directing people to the Daily Bread Food Pantry (25 West St - entrance off Terrace Place).

Donations are accepted on Mondays between 11am and 2pm and Friday between 8:30 am and 11:30 am. I am posting updates on what we need each day on our website at

so please check the website to stay current on our needs. I am also updating the voicemail message on our phone at 203-743-7988.
Yahrzeit Memorial Plaques at TBC

As the secular year begins, we know that many of us are thinking of loved ones who have passed away, and we invite you to use this moment of transition, of remembering and looking forward, to commemorate the lives and blessings of your loved ones with a memorial plaque. A special service of dedication for the entire community will be scheduled at TBC when that again becomes possible. Ordering information is available here.

Buy Grocery Cards - Help Support TBC!

Stop & Shop, Caraluzzi's, and Stew Leonard's have agreed to sell the Temple gift cards at a discount of 5-10%. Our congregants purchase the gift cards (they look just like credit cards) from the Temple at face value and use them as cash when shopping at the participating supermarkets. They may be purchased in increments of $100. Please email certificates@templebnaichaim.org if you have any questions and to purchase the cards.
