Our Daily Bread Food Pantry!
This note comes from Our Daily Bread Food Pantry in Danbury where, in more typical times, the Social Action Committee volunteers about once a month. Jane Alexander, your esteemed co-chair of social action, has been volunteering there through this very challenging time. TBC, through your
Tzedakah Fund, donated $1000 in May. It would be great to make another donation.
Your donation to the fund will make this possible! It is also possible to donate directly. See below.
A HUGE THANK YOU to all of those who have donated funds and food to Daily Bread over the past couple of months. There are too many of you to mention here. Your generosity has sustained us - allowing us to supply and purchase many thousands of pounds of food for
500+ struggling families every week - three to four times our pre-COVID-19 numbers.
Donations are accepted on Mondays between 11 am and 2 pm and Friday between 8:30 am and 11:30 am. I am posting updates on what we need each day on our website at
so please check the website to stay current on our needs. I am also updating the voicemail message on our phone at 203-743-7988.

Yahrzeit Memorial Plaques at TBC
As the secular year begins, we know that many of us are thinking of loved ones who have passed away, and we invite you to use this moment of transition, of remembering and looking forward, to commemorate the lives and blessings of your loved ones with a memorial plaque. A special service of dedication for the entire community will be scheduled at TBC when that again becomes possible. Ordering information is available here.

It is traditional to light a memorial candle on the eve of the yahrzeit at home and to recite Kaddish when lighting the yahrzeit candle. It is also a custom to make donations in memory of loved ones around the time.
