Rise Against Hunger Events Package One Million Meals!
On Saturday, October 20, 180 TBC congregants and their friends and families joined the other faith institutions in the community to help pack meals for Rise Against Hunger. 150,000 meals were packed that day. This was WiAct's 8th year hosting the event and we reached our million meals mark. In recognition of that RAH gave WiAct the gift of an inscribed gong which will be at TBC on November 9th for services to celebrate TBC's participation in the event. A gong is rung during the meal packing event for every 10,000 meals. (The gong will be at Shabbat services Friday Nov. 9 to celebrate TBC's participation in the event!!) It was a great day and volunteers had a lot of fun while doing something very worthwhile.

This year, with the coordination and leadership of our Federation, many of those communities - congregations, organizations, and others - have joined together to create Common Threads, a year-long project to explore our diverse ancestry and heritage and how it weaves together into our strong and integrated Upper Fairfield County community.
