A Special Shabbat
To Honor David and Lori Abraham
April 22 at 7:30 pm
Our April 22nd Shabbat service will be a very special one to honor David and Lori Abraham, who will be moving to Arizona. David and Lori are long-time members of TBC and we will be honoring their years of dedicated service to our community. In addition to the many Board roles David held, he is also a past President, and Lori taught in our religious school for many years.
There will be a festive oneg - sponsored by TBC's past presidents - following the service. Please join us to help celebrate these extraordinary members of our TBC family.

TBC's Religious School Celebrates
Israel Independence Day

Volunteers Needed!
On Sunday morning, May 1 from 9:30-11:30, the Religious School will be celebrating Yom HaAtzmaut (Israel Independence Day) with “A Visit to Israel.” At a variety of stations representing important sites, students will learn through experience about Masada archeology, folk dancing in Tel Aviv, prayers at The Wall in Jerusalem, the Dead Sea, and Eilat. The movie 1945, as reviewed by Allen Kopfstein, "has a somber, compelling theme. Two Jews return to a Polish town at the end of WW2 causing the town residents to fear that the Jews will reclaim their confiscated properties and wealth. Outstanding cinematography and acting. A gripping drama".

Book & Toy Drive
in Partnership with DIG
TBC Religious School, in partnership with DIG (Determination, Integrity, Growth), is collecting books & toys both in our lobby and from various other locations over the coming weeks to distribute to the children and families of Bridgeport, CT that are in need.

Jack and Ella Misita's Mitzvah Project - Pajamas & Books!
Help Ella and Jack Misita with their Mitzvah Project to bring new pajamas and books to children in need! Donations sought for Pajama Program! This organization emphasizes healthy sleep habits as an integral part of children’s health. There will be a bin in the TBC lobby through April 30 where you can place NEW pajamas (in any size), and NEW children’s books. If you’re unable to donate these items, but wish to contribute, you can make a donation using the TBC donation form, earmarked for Jack and Ella Misita’s mitzvah project, and we will be happy to purchase these items on your behalf. Southern Connecticut Camerata Concert

Saint Paul's on the Green, Norwalk
TBC congregant Russ Robbins is a long-time member of the Southern Connecticut Camerata. They are giving a concert on Sunday, April 24 at 4pm at St. Paul's on the Green in Norwalk featuring "The Ladies Oriana: Music for Elizabeth I & II." The program will include works by Orlando Gibbons, William Byrd, Benjamin Britten, and more. All are welcome. You can purchase tickets online at sccamerata.org to attend in person or virtually - or you can purchase tickets at the door. We hope to see you there.

Richardson Auditorium at Ridgefield High School, and accompanied by the Ridgefield Symphony Orchestra, this multi-media “choral musical” will take us through a time that challenged not only a few, but all of us. Updated COVID Policy
Based on the Reopening Task Force's recommendations, we are updating TBC's COVID policy. Effectively immediately, masks inside the building will be optional. This change is a result of the high vaccination rates of our congregants, the low infection and hospitalization rates in our area and CDC guidelines.
Please note that full vaccination continues to be required to enter the building. Children under 5 who cannot be vaccinated (or anyone who is medically unable to be vaccinated and has provided the required proof) must continue to wear a mask while in the building. We will continue to monitor COVID and adjust our policy as needed.

New Jewish Senior Services Hospice Volunteer Training Dates

Chaifetz Family Hospice will be holding a 2-Day Hospice Training for people interested in giving their time and compassion to JSS clients in Fairfield County. Training will be held at Jewish Senior Services, 4200 Park Avenue, Bridgeport, CT on Sunday June 12th from 9am–5:00pm and Sunday June 26 from 9:00 am-5:00 pm (June 26 session might be via zoom). Training materials and meals will be provided free of charge. Dorothy Day Hospitality House

TBC now staffs the Dorothy Day Hospitality House (aka Danbury Soup Kitchen) the first Wednesday of each month. We provide about 80 meals each afternoon with COVID precautions followed. Everyone who comes to the door is welcomed with no questions asked. All work at Dorothy House is done by volunteers — there is no paid staff.
At this time, we need about 4 people to take care of each day. Dorothy Day Hospitality House is based on the Houses of Hospitality founded by Dorothy Day during the Great Depression. It is not formally affiliated with any religious organization, and people of all faiths participate in their work. Contact: Peggy Zamore at peggyz18@gmail.com
