We are also honoring the 50th Anniversary of Ken and Sharon Sobel, TBC leaders for many years.

TBC Pride Shabbat & Program

Sunday June 23

Mark your calendars for our TC Pride Shabbat and Program! This year there is much to be proud of -- and also much to be alarmed about, as attacks on the LGBTQ+ community spread in the U.S. and abroad.

And good news! For the first time this year Wilton has a visible LGBTQ+ presence in town with the formation of the new Wilton Pride organization.

At the June 23 service, TBC LGBTQ members will speak about what they're especially proud of and how TBC is, and can continue to be, supportive.

Successful TBC Womens' Reproductive Rights 'Town Hall'!

Kudos to our TBC Womens' Reproductive Rights Action Group for a successful town hall meeting this past Sunday. Some 30 TBC members and guests listened to and asked questions of Senators Julie Kushner and Ceci Maher as well as Gretchen Raffa of CT Planned Parenthood. In addition to hearing about the successful work they have been doing with the Connecticut legislature, we learned more about the work still to be done to achieve effective access to reproductive health care in Connecticut and nationally.

The speakers committed to conveying to TBC relevant action items as they come up in Connecticut and nationally and to give us a heads up as to when we should plan to actually lobby / demonstrate in person to make concrete progress. TBC members are encouraged to attend the follow-up action group meeting that will be scheduled in the next two weeks. Contact Jane Alexander for date and time.

It is traditional to light a memorial candle at home on the eve of the yahrzeit. You may also find it meaningful while kindling the yahrzeit candle to offer prayers of remembrance or reflect on your loved one’s life. Many also choose this time to make monetary donations in memory of loved ones

Yahrzeit Memorial Plaques

When remembering loved ones who have passed away, we invite you to commemorate their lives and blessings with a memorial plaque for the TBC wall of remembrance. Ordering information is available here.

A reminder that the Federation for Jewish Philanthropy of Upper Fairfield County schedules a variety of programs that TBC members will find interesting.

Their calendar of upcoming events is available here. Those wishing to receive their weekly mailing list will find the registration form here.
