TBC Pride Shabbat & Program

This Friday

Congregants, families, friends and guests are encouraged to attend our TBC Pride Shabbat and Program on Friday. This year there is much to be proud of -- and also much to be alarmed about, as attacks on the LGBTQ+ community spread in the U.S. and abroad.

At Friday's service TBC LGBTQ members will speak about what they're especially proud of and how TBC is, and can continue to be, supportive.

Please Make Sure to Read TBC's Congregational Meeting Report!

On May 30 we had a very important Congregational Meeting, during which we discussed and voted on the future of TBC and how best to move toward greater engagement, vitality, and sustainability. If you were unable to attend, please review this summary of the meeting, which includes what the leadership team has been working on, our recommendations, and how the congregation voted. TBC 'Graduate' Jemma Bear Creates

A Pollinator Garden for TBC!

For her senior project at Wilton High School, Jemma Bear created a fantastic Pollinator Garden at TBC. Make sure to explore it when next at Temple.

From Jemma's website: "I built a Pollinator Garden at my temple, Temple B'nai Chaim, because it not only connected me to my dad's passion for gardening but also gave me an opportunity to create something that will educate kids at my temple about the importance of planting native species that our native pollinators rely on for survival. It will also teach them about general care for the environment. The garden that I created became a part of the larger Pollinator Pathway Movement. My mission was to create this garden so my temple community would have a quiet place to observe and appreciate nature. Something that I wanted to include in my project was my temple and its Jewish value, 'Tikkun Olam', which means 'healing the world'". See the full story at Jemma's project website!

It's that time again. Mark your calendar for July 14th at Temple B'nai Chaim in Georgetown.  Please sign up to donate blood in memory of my beloved sister Hillary. Teenagers only have to be 16 now with parental permission to donate so bring them along!

If you would like to volunteer, or if you have teens who would like to volunteer, let me know. We need help from 11:30-2:30 and 2:30-5:30.

Please help spread the word--thanks! See full flyer.

Pauline Kent, Aunt of Charlie Landau

It is traditional to light a memorial candle at home on the eve of the yahrzeit. You may also find it meaningful while kindling the yahrzeit candle to offer prayers of remembrance or reflect on your loved one’s life. Many also choose this time to make monetary donations in memory of loved ones

Yahrzeit Memorial Plaques

When remembering loved ones who have passed away, we invite you to commemorate their lives and blessings with a memorial plaque for the TBC wall of remembrance. Ordering information is available here.

A reminder that the Federation for Jewish Philanthropy of Upper Fairfield County schedules a variety of programs that TBC members will find interesting.

Their calendar of upcoming events is available here. Those wishing to receive their weekly mailing list will find the registration form here.
