Prepare to celebrate, reflect, renew, and reconnect at TBC. Our Erev Rosh Hashanah service is Sunday, September 25, followed by a festive oneg and special honey tasting!

For the oneg we'll have challah, apples, and about 40 different honeys from 15 countries — and at least that many types of blossoms — along with dippers, skewers and food safety gloves... Be amazed and delighted by the range of colors, textures and tastes of honeys produced by bees around the world! Turns out Queen Bees hold the food chain together; and what we taste truly depends on where they pollinate. Join the (slightly sticky) fun!

If you are planning to attend High Holiday services via zoom, and have not yet picked up Siddurim, please call the office to make arrangements. Books must be returned by Oct 8. You can deposit the books into a box that will be provided for that purpose at the front entrance of the temple. For any books not returned by October 8, we will charge your account $50 to cover the cost of the books. 

Baxter Barenberg's Bar Mitzvah Project!

"I am going to be doing my mitzvah project with an organization called DIG USA. DIG stands for Determination, Integrity, Growth. It’s an organization that I've been involved with since I was 7 years old - that is almost half my life! It started with one coach/ owner named Dan, who has created this organization to help the underserved communities in CT learn to play both chess and soccer, creating both sports and educational opportunities. After one of my first chess lessons my Mom told me I had just helped give a free lesson to a less fortunate kid in a town like Bridgeport. DIG works on the lesson for lesson model, providing free lessons for every paid lesson, creating opportunities for all. 

For my mitzvah project, I'm going to be raising money and gear for the Bridgeport United Girls Team, which is run by DIG. It is a free program open to the girls of Bridgeport. They need new uniforms and all gear. Contributions will accepted through 10/22/22, the date of my bar mitzvah."

“Hi, I’m Ava Rabinowitz, and for my Bat Mitzvah project, I decided to partner with Donate2Dance, an organization that helps provide dance equipment to communities in need.

"Dance has been an important part of my life and I would like to help other young dancers have the best dance experience possible regardless of their means.

Michael Heft Food Drive,

Miriam Messe Diaper Collection

It is time once again for the food and diaper drive to help local food banks. The items will be delivered to the Wilton Food Pantry, the Women’s Center of Greater Danbury, and the Community Action Agency of Western Connecticut. The Redding Food Pantry is asking for gift cards this year to better focus on their clients' specific needs.

All of the pantries can use gift cards to grocery stores in addition to the items on the list. Personal care items are always in great need as well as toilet paper, paper towels and tissues. Coffee and juice boxes are needed for all pantries. Household cleaning products also. Lists will be distributed at Rosh Hashanah and items will be collected at Erev Yom Kippur, morning and family Yom Kippur services. 

Drivers will be needed after the second YK service to deliver to Wilton, Redding and Danbury. Please contact Jane Alexander at Jane@nodhill.net, 203-943-5819, to sign up to help or drive or if you have questions.

 Please do not include items that are past the “best used by date”.

TBC Film Club To Discuss Ken Burns' Documentary

"The U.S. and the Holocaust"

We will be discussing via Zoom "The US and the Holocaust," a Ken Burns film. PBS is presenting this as a three-part documentary and it will shown September 18, 20th and the 21st at 8 P.M on PBS.
