Wildfires on the Hawaiian island of Maui have devastated communities on the sland. According to news reports, the fires have caused at least 100 deaths, have wiped out the historic city of Lahaina, and destroyed people’s homes.
Not only does Maui’s community need our help, but many people are fleeing to Honolulu where Jewish communal organizations will receive many requests for support.
The Jewish community in Hawaii is led by a number of synagogues, Chabad, and the Jewish Community Services of Hawaii.

Yahrzeits August 25 - 31
Zeicher tzaddik livrachah!
Monday, August 28
Hilma August, grandmother of Alan Masarek
Walter Bloom, father of Richard Bloom
Irving K. Braunstein, father of Wendy Nadel
It is traditional to light a memorial candle at home on the eve of the yahrzeit. You may also find it meaningful while kindling the yahrzeit candle to offer prayers of remembrance or reflect on your loved one’s life. Many also choose this time to make monetary donations in memory of loved ones.
Yahrzeit Memorial Plaques
When remembering loved ones who have passed away, we invite you to commemorate their lives and blessings with a memorial plaque for the TBC wall of remembrance. Ordering information is available here.
