The Affordable Housing Council of Olympia Master Builders has endorsed candidates in two races for the primary election. In both Mason and Thurston Counties, there are very important County Commissioner races with candidates who are clear choices to support home building and economic development. Those candidates are:
Thurston County - Bud Blake
Bud is the incumbent and has fought for four years to protect land owners from the results of the federal listing of the Mazama Pocket Gopher as an endangered species and brought the county budget into balance by shifting to a biennial method while encouraging county-wide growth.
Mason County - Sharon Trask
Sharon currently works as a Legislative Assistance to a member of leadership in the State House of Representatives. She wants to focus on recruiting employers to Mason County and providing the proper tools to first responders. Her understanding of political decision making will let her hit the ground running to grow Mason County.
