Hands-Free While Driving Law to Take Effect SOON!
The hands-free driving law takes effect in MA on Feb. 23, 2020. Police departments will be out in force to ensure residents are sticking to the rules.
You can only use electronic devices and mobile phones in hands-free mode, you are not permitted to hold or support any electronic device/phone, you cannot touch device for texting, emailing, apps, video, or internet use, activation of GPS navigation is permitted when the device is installed or properly mounted. Any handheld use is only allowed if the vehicle is both stationary and not located in a public travel lane but is not allowed at red lights or stop signs.
A good rule of thumb is, if you can put your vehicle in park in a safe place, you can use your phone but otherwise, hands-off. If you are under 18 you cannot use ANY electronic device. All phone use while driving is illegal, including the use of hands-free mode, so talk to your teen about this one specifically. The fines and penalties will be high.
For more information, check Mass.Gov
Please be safe on the roads and just put the phones away.

We all are challenged....
When we least expect it, life sets us a challenge to test our courage and willingness to change; at such a moment, there is no point in pretending that nothing has happened or in saying that we are not yet ready. The challenge will not wait. Life does not look back.”
~Paulo Coelho, The Devil and Miss Prym
“Life is either a daring adventure or nothing at all.”
~ Helen Keller, The Open Door
“Every woman that finally figured out her worth, has picked up her suitcases of pride and boarded a flight to freedom, which landed in the valley of change.” ~ Shannon L. Alder
“If you aren't in over your head, how do you know how tall you are?” ~ T.S. Eliot
|
I LOVED that T.S. Elliot quote. I spend the majority of my time in over my head, with my tippy toes just barely touching the bottom.
Sometimes its hard to get a gulp of air... but if I can just float... it can be relaxing if there are no storms and no choppy waves or undercurrent.
Took that analogy just about as far as I could ; )
Have a great week everyone, thanks for reading! ~ Jacquie
