The Yankton Chamber of Commerce Ambassador committee is hard at work getting ready for the Annual Golf Day.  This year's event will be at the Fox Run Golf Course Friday, August 25 with a shotgun start at 12 noon. Needed: Women in business to fill out profiles

National Women in Business week is October 16-20. The Chamber of Commerce and the Sandbox are partnering to bring Nancy Lyons, owner and CEO of Clockwork, author, entrepreneur and speaker to Yankton.  The event will be held on October 20, 9 a.m at Hillcrest Country and Golf Course.  The Chamber is collecting profiles from women owned businesses to help promote during the week.   Click here for profile

► Avera Cancer Institute has begun replacing and upgrading its radiation machine that provides treatment to cancer patients.  The machine will enhance imagery and capability for radiation treatments.

 The South Dakota Trial Lawyers Association recognized attorney John Blackburn from Blackburn and Stevens with a Lifetime of Achievement Award.  The purpose of this award is to recognize an attorney who has shown notable achievement as a trial lawyer over the course of their career.

► Stacy Hubert with Edward Jones received the firm’s Eagle Award for her clear vision of both client and business goals.   “When you work for a firm that is known for its outstanding service, it’s quite an honor to be singled out for your service record,” Hubert said.

► Marcene Dickes was named the interim hospital administrator at the Human Services Center.  Marcene will start on August 14 and continue until a new administrator is named.

► Arlin Likness, Yankton School District head football coach, was inducted into the South Dakota High School Coaches Association Hall of Fame.  He also received the Max Hawk Award at the awards ceremony July 11.

► Justin Olson, Yankton School District gymnastic coach, received the SDHSCA Gymnastics Coach of the Year award at the awards ceremony July 11.

Integrity Insurance Group LLC held their ribbon cutting Wednesday, July 13 at their 1701 Broadway location.  Brandy Beringer bought Wynot Insurance Agency and expanded the business with two locations, one in Wynot and the other in Yankton.  Stop by and congratulation Brandy and her staff.
Summer Fun at the After Hours Social
The Chamber Ambassadors After Hours Summer Social was held Tuesday, July 11 at the NFAA.  The event was sponsored by Ace Bike & Fitness, Lakeside Fun Rentals, Broadway Chrysler, Soil Works, EASW, Rounding 3rd and NFAA. There were several activities going on throughout the event including a poker run, Bow Birds, a vehicle display and a velcro wall.  Grilled hot dogs and ice cream as well as a bar were enjoyed by many.  Thank you to our sponsors and to everyone who was able to attend!
