Yankton Makes USA Today Website!
In September, travel writer, Gary Garth stopped by Yankton for a few days while he was gathering information for the story which was published last Thursday, December 7th.

Gary is quoted in the story, saying: "Yankton, S.D., is a compact, bustling river town of about 15,000, but it feels larger. Efficient, friendly and independent, the general vibe is: Have fun and enjoy yourself but be polite. Everyone seems to do so."

DIY - PRIVATE FUNDING CAMPAIGN BEGINS
The citizen-led organization, Dive In Yankton, is working to make the dream of a new aquatic facility for the community of Yankton become a reality.

The elements included in the facility as well as layout have been chosen, based on feedback collected from community members earlier in the year.

With the help of experts from Water Technologies and Stockwell Engineers a master plan concept of the proposed facility has been created which provides a striking visual for community members to get excited about!

Work for the DIY team has now shifted from information gathering and practical application to fundraising and awareness.
The private funding campaign for DIY is currently seeking pledges, both large and small. Pledges with naming rights are available, upon discussion.

DIY is also looking for help to spread the word about the project. Please like the DIY Facebook page to stay informed and show your support! Pamphlets and posters are available at the Chamber office.
If your organization or group would like to schedule an in-person presentation about the project from the DIY committee, please reach out to Josh Svatos to set a date.

Click here for a downloadable poster. Please help spread the word and excitement about the project by posting in your break room or bulletin board.
