Hey everyone,

As the air grows crisp and the seasons turn, we’re reminded of the power of change—and the strength of community that carries us through it. The Chamber has had a year full of growth, connection, and resilience, and as we step into these colder months, our focus remains clear: to champion and celebrate our members.

One of the brightest moments this season will be our Spotlight Soirée, where we gather to honor the businesses, people, and stories that make Oak Park and River Forest thrive. It’s a chance not only to celebrate success, but also to reaffirm our shared commitment to supporting one another—through every season of business.

Together, we look forward to another year of progress, purpose, and partnership.

COMING UP THIS WEEK

PLAN FOR YOUR MONTH

The Oak Park Black & Latine Business Support Network — known as BLEND — is more than a program. It’s a movement.

BLEND stands for Black and Latine Entrepreneurship, Networks, and Development — a name that reflects our core mission: to support, connect, and grow Black and Latine-owned businesses right here in Oak Park.

Through expert-led sessions, peer collaboration, and practical resources, BLEND delivers the knowledge, community, and momentum that drive real business success — now and into the future!

Cohort 2 focuses on Established Businesses. These sessions will be held monthly in the evenings through March 2026.

The first event is on September 10--Navigating Oak Park’s Economic Vitality Infrastructure which will offer advanced insights into how to engage with village government and local institutions for business growth.

CHEERS TO VOLUNTEERING (AND MARKETING!)

Want a fun way to boost visibility while giving back? Chamber members can volunteer at Oaktoberfest — an energetic, fast-moving chance to connect with the community and showcase your business.

As a volunteer, you’ll do more than keep the festival running smoothly — you’ll put your brand front and center. Wear your company gear, share giveaways, and meet hundreds of festival-goers while representing both your business and the Chamber. Plus, enjoy perks like a souvenir mug and three drink tickets as a thank-you for your time.

This opportunity is exclusive to Chamber members and space is limited — one shift per business.

FIRST FRIDAYS FINALE: PLEASANT DISTRICT

Charming by day and electric by night, Oak Park’s Pleasant District is the perfect stage for the grand finale of this year’s First Fridays festival series. On Thursday, October 3, the neighborhood comes alive with stylish storefronts, cool cocktails, jazz, bites, and family-friendly fun.

It’s the last First Fridays of 2025—one more chance to stroll the streets, support local businesses, and soak in the energy that makes this festival series a highlight of Oak Park’s summer and fall. Don’t miss the closing celebration of a year spent gathering, connecting, and thriving together.

Our community partners are doing amazing things. Here, we'll share exciting updates to inspire you to get involved!
