At the Oak Park–River Forest Chamber of Commerce, we believe that when local businesses thrive, our whole community thrives. Chamber Advantage is our way of keeping you connected to that vision. Each week, we’ll share the latest on programs like Oak Park NEXT and BLEND, spotlight opportunities across our twelve business districts, and highlight the members, events, and initiatives that drive inclusive growth in our region. Whether you’re looking for resources, inspiration, or ways to plug in, Chamber Advantage is your go-to for what’s happening in the Chamber and how we’re working together to build a vibrant, resilient, and connected business community.

THE CHAMBER WALKS AND TALKS WITH CONGRESSWOMAN ROBIN KELLY

This week, we had the pleasure of hosting Congresswoman Robin Kelly (IL-2) for a Small Business Walk & Talk through our local business district. Joined by Village President Vicki Scaman, Chamber leadership, and members of our Board, the Congresswoman met directly with five Chamber businesses to hear how federal policies—including tariffs—are affecting day-to-day operations.

These conversations highlight the Chamber’s commitment to connecting small businesses with policymakers, ensuring that local voices are heard and reflected in decisions at every level of government. We are grateful to Congresswoman Kelly for her engagement and to our community partners who helped spotlight the critical role small businesses play in our economy. See pictures from the Walk & Talk below.

CHEERS TO VOLUNTEERING (AND MARKETING!)

Looking for a unique way to get your brand in front of the community? Chamber members can volunteer at Oaktoberfest — a fun, fast-paced opportunity to both serve and shine.

When you sign up, you’re not just helping run the festival — you’re also promoting your business. Wear your branded gear, hand out giveaways, and connect directly with hundreds of festival-goers while representing both your company and the Chamber. Perks also include a free souvenir mug, three drink tickets!

Please note this opportunity is exclusive to Chamber members, and spots are limited — one shift per business.

SHINE A SPOTLIGHT ON YOUR BUSINESS

The Spotlight Soirée is our signature fall celebration, bringing together 150+ business leaders, community partners, and neighbors for an evening of recognition, connection, and celebration. As a sponsor, your brand will be showcased at one of the Chamber’s most dynamic events of the year — earning visibility, recognition, and the opportunity to connect with decision-makers across Oak Park and River Forest.

Stand out as a champion of small business, highlight your commitment to community, and align your company with the Chamber’s ongoing mission to strengthen our local economy.
