At the Oak Park–River Forest Chamber of Commerce, we believe that when local businesses thrive, our whole community thrives. Chamber Advantage is our way of keeping you connected to that vision. Each week, we’ll share the latest on programs like Oak Park NEXT and BLEND, spotlight opportunities across our twelve business districts, and highlight the members, events, and initiatives that drive inclusive growth in our region.

Whether you’re looking for resources, inspiration, or ways to plug in, Chamber Advantage is your go-to for what’s happening in the Chamber and how we’re working together to build a vibrant, resilient, and connected business community.

IT'S TIME – BLEND 2025 IS READY FOR YOU

Oak Park's Black & Latine Entrepreneurship, Networks, and Development initiative — is where Black and Latine-owned businesses connect, learn, and grow. This year’s program brings two tracks in one mission: Cohort 1 empowers micro and emerging businesses to build strong foundations, while Cohort 2 equips established owners to scale and sustain growth. Through expert-led sessions, peer support, and practical tools, BLEND connects Black and Latine entrepreneurs with the knowledge and networks that turn ideas into lasting success.

COMING UP THIS WEEK

PLAN FOR YOUR MONTH

LAST FRIDAY SOUTH TOWN, NEXT STOP PLEASANT

South Town kicked off September with live music, sizzling eats, and neighborhood spirit that lit up Madison Street. The photos say it all—thank you to everyone who came out and made it unforgettable.

Next stop: Pleasant District, the grand finale of this year’s First Fridays. Think stylish shops, cool cocktails, and jazz-filled streets—one last chance in 2025 to gather, connect, and celebrate local business in true Oak Park style.

Want to vend? There’s still time to be part of the finale—reserve your spot today!

CUSTOMIZE YOUR CHAMBER CONNECTION

Make sure you never miss the opportunities that matter most. Our New Member Connections Form lets you choose the Chamber activities you care about—like the Women in Business affinity group, ribbon cutting ceremonies, calls for committee volunteers, and more.

If you’ve already attended a New Member Breakfast, you’ll recognize this form. If not, or if you’d like to update your interests, take a moment to complete it. It’s the quickest way to tailor Chamber updates and get the full value of your membership. The Chamber is eager to support you!

CHEERS TO VOLUNTEERING (AND MARKETING!)

Want a fun way to boost visibility while giving back? Chamber members can volunteer at Oaktoberfest — an energetic, fast-moving chance to connect with the community and showcase your business.

As a volunteer, you’ll do more than keep the festival running smoothly — you’ll put your brand front and center. Wear your company gear, share giveaways, and meet hundreds of festival-goers while representing both your business and the Chamber. Plus, enjoy perks like a souvenir mug and three drink tickets as a thank-you for your time.

This opportunity is exclusive to Chamber members and space is limited — one shift per business.

That’s it for this week—thanks for reading and for helping our business community thrive together.
