Memorial Day is right around the corner — if you've been thinking about sponsoring or vending at the River Forest Business Bash, now's the time to make it happen. We've also got new events on the calendar, and an important safety alert from the Village of Oak Park.

RALLY 'ROUND FOR RIVER FOREST

Last call for festival sponsors and vendors! The Business Bash returns to River Forest's beautiful Keystone Park on Monday, May 25 — right after the River Forest Memorial Day Parade — and spots are filling up fast.

Participation is FREE for River Forest- and veteran-owned businesses and discounted for Chamber members. It's our area's official kickoff to summer, and a great place to get your business in front of the community.

Sponsorship tiers start at $250 and come with low-effort, high-visibility recognition — no setup required. Your support has a real hand in shaping what the day becomes. We're grateful for everyone who helps put this show together.

COMING UP THIS WEEK

PLAN YOUR MONTH

A DAY IN OUR VILLAGE

Oak Park's Biggest Community Festival is back on Sunday, June 7 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. in Scoville Park — and the Chamber will be there with a tent.

One of Oak Park's most beloved annual traditions, the festival brings together 100+ local organizations, live entertainment, food from nearby restaurants, and kids' activities. Click here to learn more – it's a great place to be seen!

Chamber members can sign up for a time slot at our shared tent — no vending, just a chance to meet neighbors and get your name out there. Space is limited, so grab your spot now.

The Village of Oak Park's Development Services Department is flagging a rise in "smash and grab" ATM thefts across the area — incidents where suspects use vehicles to force entry and remove ATMs quickly, often causing significant property damage in the process.

If your business has an ATM, they're encouraging you to take a few precautions:

  • Bolt down and secure your ATM whenever possible
  • Move it away from front entrances and windows if you can
  • Make sure exterior lighting and security cameras are working and positioned to cover entrances and ATM areas
  • Review your alarm system and consider after-hours motion detection
  • Remind employees to report suspicious activity right away

Spot something concerning? Use the Village's non-emergency police line: 708.386.3800. For emergencies or a crime in progress, call 911 immediately.

Thank you for your continued efforts to keep our community safe.

DON'T PAY MORE THAN YOU OWE

Cook County is reassessing commercial properties this year. Know what that means for your tax bill — and what you can do about it. Join us May 18 for a free seminar with the Cook County Assessor's Office covering assessments, appeals, and your options as an owner or lessee.
