Want to learn more about your Board of Directors?

Each month we will be featuring a different Board Member (or two). These features will tell you who they are, what they do, and some fun facts about them. This month we are featuring two, Kimberly Augustin & Brian Dubina.

Name: Kimberly Augustin

Place of Business: Kale Realty

What does she do?

I work diligently by serving communities throughout Chicago as a Real Estate Broker and Accredited Commercial Practitioner (ACP) – bringing your real estate goals whether your first home, new commercial project, or investment to reality. Proudly, my business continues to thrive by repeat clients and referrals. There’s no goal too big or small. My motto is to make real estate a wonderful achievement for all.

What does she do for fun?

For fun, I love nature walks, eating sushi, and spending time with friends. When you work hard, it's a no brainer to play even harder!

Why does she love the Chamber?

I've been a Chamber member for a very long time, and this is my last year serving on the Board for a total of six years. Throughout these years, I really love attending various Chamber events. These events have fostered relationship building along with other networking opportunities. More recently, I'm enamored with the BIPOC affinity group. It gives me the opportunity to make a direct connection to discuss matters as an entrepreneur within these communities of color.

Name: Brian Dubina

Place of Business: D200 - OPRF High School

What does he do?

I am the Pre-Vocational Education Coordinator at Oak Park and River Forest High School helping students with jobs and careers. I connect students with local part-time work opportunities and help them explore careers that may or may not require a college degree. I specialize in working with individuals with disabilities, finding supportive work experiences for them, and helping employers structure their work environments to meet the student’s needs.

What does he do for fun?

My choice of fun depends on the time of the year. My first choice would be to go outside and go kayaking, hiking in the dunes, running, or making my family take long walks in the woods. Weather doesn’t deter me as I have been known to hike in Starved Rock during a snowstorm or go for a run during a warm summer rain or at 6am in February. If it’s a cold winter night, you will find me in front of my fireplace (with a fire of course) working on a crochet project or streaming a very low-budget movie and eating popcorn.

Why does he love the Chamber?

I love the chamber for various reasons. First and most foremost, it benefits my role at the high school to know as many businesses as I can. The Chamber has been a great and efficient way to connect with other businesses. That’s the “job” reason I love the Chamber. Personally, I love the Chamber because it has made it fun to do my job. I thoroughly enjoy coming to events, meeting new people, and hanging out with people I have come to consider friends. It’s so interesting to learn about each business, listening to people’s story of what brought them to that career, and learning how someone gets into that field. Not only am I working, but I’m having fun doing it . . . you can’t get much better than that.
