The Spotlight Awards bring 150-plus neighbors and business owners into one room to celebrate the people and places that make Oak Park and River Forest worth showing up for — part awards show, part party, all local. It's one of the most visible nights on the Chamber calendar, and a sponsorship puts your name in front of that entire room before a single award is announced.

Good news: getting your logo in front of the room costs a lot less than a stadium banner and a jersey patch. Sponsorships run from $250 high-tops up to the $3,000 Presenting spot, and Award Sponsors get two minutes on stage to hand out an honor themselves. Every level puts your logo on the marketing leading up to the event and the signage and screens the night of. Levels, seats, and perks are all broken down in the sponsorship packet. A READING OF THE DECLARATION – TOGETHER

On July 8, communities across the country will read the Declaration of Independence out loud, at the same moment, marking the anniversary of its first public reading in 1776. Oak Park and River Forest are joining in, with a gathering at Scoville Park.

Come by starting at 4:30 p.m.; the reading begins promptly at 5. While you're there, the Museum's giving out free Illinois Passports – a guide to historical sites throughout the state.

GET EXPERT ONE-ON-ONE ADVISING

We're proud partners of the Cook County Small Business Source, which offers no-cost, one-on-one advising to businesses across the county. Take Print Innovation Lab, a fine-art print studio here in Oak Park. After seven years running it out of his home, owner Juan Carlos Hernandez had outgrown the space but wasn't sure a storefront made sense. The Source connected him with an advisor and a local broker, and today he prints from a shop on Oak Park Avenue, a few steps from the Green Line.
