At the Oak Park–River Forest Chamber of Commerce, we believe that when local businesses thrive, our whole community thrives. Chamber Advantage is our way of keeping you connected to that vision. Each week, we’ll share the latest on programs like Oak Park NEXT, spotlight opportunities across our twelve business districts, and highlight the members, events, and initiatives that drive inclusive growth in our region.

Whether you’re looking for resources, inspiration, or ways to plug in, Chamber Advantage is your go-to for what’s happening in the Chamber and how we’re working together to build a vibrant, resilient, and connected business community.

PLAN FOR YOUR MONTH

CHEERS TO VOLUNTEERING (AND MARKETING!)

Want a fun way to boost visibility while giving back? Chamber members can volunteer at Oaktoberfest — an energetic, fast-moving chance to connect with the community and showcase your business.

As a volunteer, you’ll do more than keep the festival running smoothly — you’ll put your brand front and center. Wear your company gear, share giveaways, and meet hundreds of festival-goers while representing both your business and the Chamber. Plus, enjoy perks like a souvenir mug and three drink tickets as a thank-you for your time.

This opportunity is exclusive to Chamber members and space is limited — one shift per business.

BUSINESS AFTER HOURS

Open your doors for one of the Chamber's favorite monthly gatherings! Consider hosting a Business After Hours networking event in 2026. Host sites must have the capacity to welcome up to 100 attendees, and hosts commit to providing hors d'oeuvres and drinks for participants (you are welcome to partner with other Chamber members in doing so!).

This phenomenal networking opportunity brings dozens of business leaders to see your space, learn about what you do, and spend time mingling and creating positive memories around your organization or business. Check out some photos from previous BAH events to see the fun in action!

We're planning 2026 now, so if you would like to be a BAH host, please contact Mark Walden at mwalden@oprfchamber.org.

Our community partners are doing amazing things. Here, we'll share exciting updates to inspire you to get involved!

GET READY FOR THE 2025 TOUR DE PROVISO

Registration is already buzzing for the 2025 Tour de Proviso, with 800–1,000 riders expected to roll through multiple townships and villages, including Oak Park! Hosted by Best of Proviso Township, this growing event is a fantastic way for the community to enjoy local landmarks while supporting area businesses.

Local businesses are invited to join in the fun by promoting the event, offering discounts to riders, or sharing special offers. Best of Proviso Township will help spread the word through their network to ensure riders know about participating businesses.

For more information or to explore promotional partnerships, reach out to Randall at rmcksbysun@hotmail.com.

That’s it for this week—thanks for reading and for helping our business community thrive together.
