Each month we will be featuring a different Board Member (or two). These features will tell you who they are, what they do, and some fun facts about them. We are starting off with the Past President, Dr. Mary Ann Bender!

What does she do?
I am a podiatrist, treating all ages of patients for conditions of the foot and ankle (ingrown or fungal nails, fractures and injuries, bunions, hammer toes, heel pain and plantar fasciitis, tendinitis, gout, sprains, and arthritis). After 11 years of being my own boss in private practice, I merged with Weil Foot and Ankle Institute at Rush Oak Park Hospital in 2020. Being part of a bigger practice has allowed me to offer more services to my patients and provide better care.
Who is she?
When I am not working, I am usually cheering for my daughters at Taekwondo, and volleyball, soccer, and softball games. When I have free time, I like to read, travel, try new restaurants, and cheer on the White Sox, Bulls, and Bears.
If she had to choose one, beach or mountain vacation, which would it be?
As a Pisces, I love water, so my preferred vacations include lake or ocean time!
