News from the Executive Director

Well the sure sign that winter is gone and spring is finally here to stay was confirmed this past weekend. I saw our friends at the Quannapowitt Yacht Club repairing and prepping their docks to be placed back into the lake for the upcoming season. Appears everyone one is ready for the warmer weather to arrive and drive away the winters chill! Let’s get those boats in the water and let the warmer weather begin!

The month of March continued our steady pace of activities here at the Chamber. The monthly Business Clinics with Maria DeStefano continue to attract members who arrive ready to take advantage of her business knowledge, experience and industry contacts. These clinics have certainly demonstrated how businesses of all sizes can benefit from committing a small amount of time invested at minimal risk for a much larger reward.

The monthly “BYOB” breakfast had a break out month as we offered each attendee our new “Breakfast Club” coffee mug. Thank you to Sardella Signs for creating them! Each attendee at last month’s breakfast received a mug to take with them and given an opportunity to win a gift certificate to Brothers . A big thank you to Brothers for donating the gift certificate and congratulations to Patrick Dooling with Boston Computer Scanning . Don’t miss this month’s breakfast and remember to bring your business card for another raffle, and of course, don’t forget to bring that Breakfast Club mug!!

Our Annual legislator’s Breakfast was a huge success which drew a terrific crowd for the morning event. Thank you to our entire State delegation for participating and taking the time to speak to our group: State Senators Lewis and Crighton, as well as State Representatives Jones, Brodeur and Wong. A special thanks to our sponsors; Beth Israel Lahey Health , The Savings Bank and Wakefield Co-operative Bank . Also, we want to acknowledge our host, Four Points Sheraton Wakefield who did another fabulous job and contributed to making this event successful again this year.

WHAT'S TO COME
The month of April kicks off another very busy time for us with breakfast and the private business clinics. Mark your calendar to join us at an After-Hours networking social hosted by the Westside Social Club and a Women in Business event later in the month. Most importantly is the annual “Blossoms at the Beebe” on Saturday evening April 27th, a very special fundraiser held at the library. This year’s theme is a “Masquerade Gala” – An Atmosphere of Illusion! This is the largest event of the year and is always a sell-out. So, don’t delay in getting your tickets, you don’t want to miss this spectacular event. We usually don't look ahead to May, but with several exciting events, we wanted to give you enough notice so that you can join us. Click on any of our events listed to the right to see more information about them!

Lastly, please take a moment to share your thoughts for our friends at Beth Israel Lahey Health.  Click here to participate in their “Community Health Needs Assessment”.
