Chamber Chat Newsletter
What a terrific way to close out July! We ended the month with our annual Summer Outing at the Quannapowitt Yacht Club on beautiful Lake Quannapowitt. As has been the case in our first two outings, this event completely sold out and all who attended seemed to have a great time. This evening was filled with fun, great networking opportunities, good food and beverages all shared together with fellow Chamber members. If you were unable to attend this enjoyable evening, know that when the next one rolls around, jump at the chance to register!

Per usual, the first Thursday of the month, we were back at it in person for our Breakfast Club monthly networking at Brother’s Restaurant. Many of our regulars with their Breakfast Club coffee mugs in hand, enjoyed renewing their conversations with business peers that had been silent for too long. Joined by a few new attendees, the networking picked back up as if it never stopped - which is a great sign of a good networking opportunity! So what are you waiting for? Make your plans to join in the networking at our next Breakfast Club and establish new relationships for your business!

Looking to August, we have another very busy month ahead of us. We have two scheduled ribbon cuttings for new members. Feel free to join us on Tuesday August 17 for the Open House and Ribbon Cutting ceremony of Simplify with Eileen, located at Lakeside Office Park, 607 North Ave., Door #11 Wakefield. The open house is from 4:00pm till 7:00pm - the ribbon cutting ceremony will be at 4:30pm. Our second ribbon cutting is for another one of our newest members, Valid8.com and will be on Monday August 23, 2021 at 4:15pm, Valid8.com, Lakeside Office Park, 599 North Ave. Wakefield.

The fun continues with our next Business After Hours event at the West Side Social Club. Be sure to join us as we gather to network and enjoy the new outdoor patio/deck at the West Side located at 4 Harrington Court, Wakefield. We all will be treated to some delicious appetizers provided by another new recent Chamber member who everyone is buzzing about - Charlie’s on Main. The evening is from 5:00pm - 7:30pm. Registration is open so solidify those plans and be part of another wonderful Chamber evening of networking.

With the Summer swiftly passing, we can already see September in our sights. We are are putting together a Chamber event which will bring Congressman Seth Moulton in person to our town for a “Congressional Legislative Update”. We have this special informational forum scheduled for Tuesday, September 14th at the Four Points Sheraton here in Wakefield. The session begins with a buffet breakfast at 7:30am followed by the Congressman’s presentation at 8:00am. This is a unique opportunity to meet with and speak with our US Congressman. Here you will be informed on current events taking place that are impacting us in our nation’s capital, Washington DC. Keep your eyes open for the informational flyer (coming soon!) with the registration and event details!

Finally, the Chamber is once again looking forward to promoting the importance of supporting local businesses. This year’s promotion is called “SHOP LOCAL SATURDAYS” and will begin in August running on alternating weekends straight through to the month of December. We are encouraging all to shop at local merchants anywhere in the Town of Wakefield. For every $50 spent by an individual with one of our participating local Wakefield merchants during one of our “Shop Local Saturdays”, they will be awarded a $10 gift coupon from the Chamber. This coupon can then be used at any one of the almost 30 participating restaurants. Please see Chamber website for the most up to date list of participating local Wakefield restaurants.

Stay cool and take care everyone.

All the best,
John
