News from the Executive Director
Happy Holiday and Seasons Greetings to All!
As we approach year end and the accompanying religious holidays, it is always a good time to reflect upon the many gifts and blessings so many of us have in our lives.
I know that at the Chamber, the thanks and gratefulness we have for our families, friends and good health does not stop there. We also get to give thanks for working over the past year in such a warm and welcoming environment with all of you. We are grateful to our members who have taken the time to participate and support us in so many ways thru out the year, beginning with our educational seminars, after hours networking, multi chamber events, Women in Business, and of course, our BYOB breakfast gatherings.
Many thanks to all of you and many of you know I’m speaking directly to YOU! Those who read this simple newsletter faithfully each month and attend our meeting know who you are and you have our heartfelt thanks.
Now onto Chamber news updates…November ended in grand fashion with another very successful Wakefield 101 hosted at the Lucius Beebe Memorial Public Library. We want to thank Catherine McDonald and her staff at the Library for making this event possible. Also many thanks to Town Administrator Steve Maio and the many town department heads and staff for participating and supporting this terrific program. Lastly, a huge “thank you” to the many Chamber members who include gifts and information in the welcome bag to present to the new residents in attendance. There are far too many participating members to list, but it goes without saying that it’s because of support from our members that our Chamber continues to be successful.
December kicked off with a very successful ribbon cutting for our new member
. A very special thank you to the Chamber Board of Director members and many additional Chamber members along with Town Administrator Steve Maio and Town Councilor Julie Smith-Galvin for all attending. This helps demonstrate the strong support for new Wakefield businesses and the Chamber of Commerce.
The usual monthly BYOB breakfast was packed with over thirty participants and had a very festive feel in the air which was definitely added to by Marianne Wronka and her reindeer flashing antlers! We also attended the
Annual Meeting and retirement ceremony honoring Tom Stapleton. The room was full and attended by many to offer their praise and thanks for the many years of Tom’s service to the community.
A special acknowledgement to Chamber member
New Beginnings Family Chiropractic
for offering a very thoughtful program called “Sensory Santa”. Please see the attached flyer for details and the link for the event.
We are well on our way to building a schedule of events for 2020. Stay tuned for future announcements.
In the meantime stay dry, warm and safe in this early season stormy weather.
Happy Holidays, Merry Christmas and enjoy a safe and happy New Years!!!
