News from the Executive Director

February is carrying us to the half way point of our winter season and thanks to our Ground Hog friend in PA, we will be talking of spring soon. To quote our “GOT” friends, I’m hoping that it’s not the beginning of WINTER IS COMING for our sports teams!
I know I’m deviating from my chamber topics here but is anyone else concerned about the state of affairs with our sports teams? The Patriots don’t make the Super Bowl and there’s talk Tom Brady may leave; the Red Sox trade Mookie Betts and a starting pitcher for prospects, they have no manager and the equipment truck has already arrived in Ft Meyers. The Bruins & Celtics – big questions marks!

So, we kicked the month off with our first Thursday of the month Breakfast Club at Brothers . The morning weather was quite stormy but as it turned out, it was one of the best attended breakfast gatherings we have had in a while. I truly enjoyed seeing 30–35 members, and now friends, mingling together discussing their businesses while sharing coffee and breakfast.

The February “After Hours Networking” is scheduled for Tuesday February 11, at 5:00 pm. This event is being hosted for us by Treat Wellness and Shine . Join us for conversation and connections; appetizers, beer and wine will be served. The event is open to members for $10 and non-members for $20. Be sure to register for this fun Networking event.

We have our first Women in Business event of the year occurring the very next evening on Wednesday, February 12 at 5:30pm. “Sparking Relationships” is sure to offer great conversation with over 50 attendees at the brand new Hampton Inn Boston Woburn Hotel

We are offering a free seminar for members on how to use Canva as a way to enhance the marketing efforts for your business. This is being hosted by Rosanne Russell with Move2Joy Yoga Studio . If you are not aware, Canva is a graphics design platform that allows users to create marketing tools including flyers, business cards, and other visual content. Be sure to register.

In March we kick off the month again at Brothers for our Breakfast Club on Thursday March 5 at 8:00am. If you have your mug be sure to bring it along – there may be a chance to win a local merchant gift certificate.

Wednesday March 11, 2020 is our successful annual “Legislators Breakfast” hosted by the Four Points Sheraton , with registration and breakfast beginning at 7:30 am. We have already confirmed the attendance of Senators Jason Lewis and Brandon Creighton; Representative and House Minority Leader Bradley Jones and Representative Donald Wong. Thank you to our sponsors Wakefield Co-operative Bank and The Savings Bank .

There continues to be so much going on in the background at the Chamber. We do have a number of seminars and networking events currently in the planning stages and we will share all of that information as soon as those plans are finalized.

Thank you all once again for your support of the Chamber and our members. We are looking forward to another very successful year meeting and servicing the needs of our members. Please be sure to keep the Chamber in mind and mention us to your friends and business associates.
