News from the Executive Director

WOW – what a great way to start the month – New England Patriots Super Bowl Champions – AGAIN!
Much like our Patriots we are off to a fast and prosperous start to begin the New Year, as we have picked up 5 new Chamber members in the first month of 2019. It is my hope and expectation that this trend will continue for us.

For those who attended our Massachusetts Health Connector Seminar, sponsored by The Savings Bank and Wakefield Co-operative Bank , I am sure you found it to be very informative and well worth your effort to attend. This was yet another free member seminar provided by the Chamber to bring valuable and useful business information to our membership. Thank you to Chaitra Sanders from the Mass Health Connector for visiting with us and sharing a wealth of positive information to all in attendance that morning.

We will be continuing this month with our very successful partnership with the Massachusetts Office of Business Development. We are offering our members this free business clinic on Thursday, February 7 th at the Savings Bank with Maria Di Stefano, Northeast Regional Director for the Massachusetts Office of Business Development. Each consulting clinic, with Maria and one of her business partners, is private and confidential. This time provides members the opportunity to take advantage of useful one on one sessions gaining valuable insight into ways to assist them in their own individual business. If you haven’t scheduled your appointment yet, it’s time to do so. Each appointment is approximately 30 minutes and very well could be the most important use of time you will ever spend. If you missed this month’s clinics, be sure to put it on your calendar for next month, March 6th, Give the Chamber a call or send me an e-mail to get yourself on the schedule!

I am once again looking forward to our monthly breakfast at Brother’s on Main Street. This “BYOB” breakfast has evolved into a really interesting, relaxing and enjoyable way to network with your business peers and friends. We meet the first Thursday of each month between 8:00am and 9:30am. If you have attended previously, I look forward to seeing you again. If you haven’t joined us yet, come on down and join in the conversation. It costs nothing to attend – but how can you come into Brothers and not sample some of their delicious breakfast menu items.

We also want to share with you that we are in discussions with Wakefield Police Department to jointly present a very important informational seminar at the end of the month - “Active Shooter Defense in the Workplace” educational session. As unfortunate as it may be, it is a reality we all must face and be prepared for in our lives. Be ready to learn how to act and protect yourself, your employees and family. Watch for more details to follow.

As always, I want to remind you to please recommend the Chamber to your friends and business associates.
