CHAMBER CHAT - Week of June 21

Today just happens to be the longest day of the year. In what seems like the longest year ever... as we slowly reopen, the weather welcomes us back to the outdoors and at least we can sit on a patio or play a round of golf. Or, check out this week's theme for the Discover Belleville's Photo Scavenger Hunt... (a new theme each week) discoverbelleville.ca/scavengerhunt/

At 11:00 this morning, I'll be tuned in to an announcement with OCC"s Rocco Rossi and the Honourable Mary Ng, Minister of Small Business, Export Promotion and International Trade to launch another "Shop Local" campaign.
Hopefully, by this time next month, we will be rolling into step 3 and we can begin supporting all our favourite places regularly again.

In the meantime, gathering is still limited so we're investigating a new "virtual" platform that allows for small group chats with the option of a general broadcast. The Mien Tzu mingle is happening this Wednesday from 5-7... hope to see you there!

It's also the time of year for the Quinte Business Achievement Award nominations. There are multiple categories for consideration depending on the type of business you are... and you can always self-nominate. We don't submit nominations (we'd have to do everyone!) BUT if you do want some help with the application, we're happy to assist with that part. We'll be in touch if we see your name on the list.

As golf reopened and the tournament cycle has begun, save the date for Wednesday, September 15 when the Chamber hits the links - this year we'll be hosted by Trillium Woods and with many thanks to Bill Kerr at Black Bear, it's time to work with Steve and his team there.

Welcome summer!!!
