CHAMBER CHAT - Week of August 10
We took a short break from our regular Chamber Chat last week while we were working on the details of a couple important events! Our 3rd Member Appreciation Mingle is confirmed thanks to the hospitality of the Ramada team and their large outdoor patio - registration will be required so we can ensure compliance with maximum gathering numbers - but we believe this is a great opportunity to bring us together safely. If there was ever a year where your commitment to the Chamber mattered more, this was it. Your membership is what keeps the Chamber an active organization and you and your advocacy needs are what keep us essential and relevant. This is a year like no other in decades - though there is some recorded history of the Chamber shutting down during trying economic times over the past 150+ years.

This was a year for us to rebuild. As we come through the storm of the pandemic and we wait with you to see how this all comes together, we're working on us for the next couple of months. Accreditation remains a goal and our application will go forward in September.

Our Visitor Services role will be greatly improved with the launch of a new website (hopefully this week) and that will also allow us to provide a better communication tool around community events as they start to happen again... and for our members, this newsletter will be exclusive to you and your teams.

Affinity programs (cost-saving partnerships) have been a pillar of membership organizations "forever" and if you ever needed to know where you can save money, it is now with national and provincial programs. Lisa continues to work with our members right here to offer you and your employees discounts on the products you use here, providing even more reason to support local. Check each week for two featured M2M programs and if you're interested in providing one, reach out to Lisa anytime at [email protected] . If you're not sure how the program works for you and your staff - she can answer those questions as well.

I hope you're able to join us next week but if not, I hope you'll be enjoying what's left of summer!
