CHAMBER CHAT - Week of June 22
Welcome to our new member this week - Never Bin Cleaner and we're happy to share that Diamond Physiotherapy has been "plaqued"! After winning the QBAA last year for "New Business" and appearing on our November breakfast panel, we're happy to feature Nicola Robertson proudly sharing her 2nd anniversary with the Chamber. Diamond Physiotherapy is open again and booking appointments.
Our local, provincial and national Chamber network connects us and you to a number of resources to help us through any situation. This week the OCC launches a new report (third in a series), and the CCC is offering a number of webinars... scroll down for details on their offerings and other webinars available this week.
Meet our Members will become a regular feature as we share a bit about the person behind the business, what their business offers and in some cases, a M2M deal you can use and share with your team! This week, we feature Emma Travis from Be Prepared.

Other member offerings will also be featured here. As community events resume, we will be creating a new "newsletter" from the desk of Discover Belleville that will include those - watch for your chance to sign up for that coming in August.
As I look back to our last "regular" Chamber Chat, it's been almost three months to the week that the world turned upside down. During our 5@5 virtual social last week, we took some time to consider the silver linings of the shutdown - time spent with family, a slower pace, food (and more food). And now, the world seems alive with summer when kids are supposed to be home, traffic is "bad" again, there are patios everywhere and people are seeing each other for real. At the PopUp launch last week, we were commenting on how it felt to see people with real bodies vs. a series of head shots across a screen. It has been months!

I'm also starting to hear more from those of you who have been coping through ever changing directives while mandated as essential - but not frontline. It has reminded me, and should remind us all - that those who continued to go in to work every day were dealing with a whole different set of stressors. It's time to recognize their efforts as well so we've added a special feature to our Canada Day Drive-by event - a procession that will focus on long-term care facilities as their main audience. The procession will end at Jane Forrester park where we will then present our Community Heroes - those who worked behind the scenes as essential workers who helped keep stores open, shelves stocked, manufacturing lines running, emergency services available and food cooking (to mention a few) - with acknowledgement from our MP Neil Ellis & MPP Todd Smith.

They will be offered for FREE to both employers and job seekers in various regions throughout the province and will highlight the need for talent in the industry.

Quinte Community Sewing for Covid19
If people are interested in donating any of the above items they can drop them off to the Chamber of Commerce Log Cabin, 5 Moira St East, or, send an email to  [email protected] and the sewing group members will arrange for pick up.
was created for individuals interested in sewing face masks, head bands, scrub caps, etc and knitting/crocheting ear savers for our healthcare workers / front line workers to help keep our community safe. Members have been using their own supplies or items donated to make these items. They are running short on a few supplies and would appreciate donations of the following items:
 
FLAT BUTTONS  - 3/4" or 1", (the size of a quarter or loonie), colour doesn't matter 
(happy to accept jars or bags of buttons and they will sort and pair up)
ELASTIC - 1/8" or 1/4" flat elastic
BIAS TAPE - extra wide double folded, 5/8" 
FABRIC - 100% cotton fabric or sheets to make masks & scrub caps OR cotton & polyester blend fabric or sheets for head bands, laundry bags & gowns.
