Welcome to two new members this week - Alayna Ward with Award Communications and John Wright of Stats-Drone. Both have chosen to make the Quinte region their new home. While Alayna has connections to the area, she and her family made the move from Yellowknife late last year and John comes out of Toronto.
Our local, provincial and national Chamber network connects us and you to a number of resources and advocacy.

The CEBA loan is now open for applications from sole proprietors if you bank with one of the 6 major lending institutions. You will be required to apply under the Non-Deferrable Expenses Stream : for businesses with total employment income paid to employees in 2019 of $20,000 or less and 2020 Eligible Non-Deferrable Expenses (subject to adjustments for support or subsidies under other Government of Canada COVID response programs) greater than $40,000 and less than $1,500,000.
Our members continue to support each other by sharing special discounts offered exclusively to other Chamber members (and their employees). These M2M deals may be business related but just as often, can be for personal use - and this is where employees of our members benefit by their organization's choice to be a member. Last Tuesday, we got the most exciting news! Trent Valley Distributors was selected from more than 1100 applicants for one of the 62 grants being offered through the Canadian Chamber of Commerce and Salesforce. Read the full details below under Sharing.

Please don't forget to nominate a local business who should be recognized for their Achievement! The Quinte Business Achievement Award nominations close on Tuesday, June 30. NOMINATE NOW And don't be shy, you are welcome to self-nominate! The awards are presented in October and while we're not sure what that will look like right now, Belleville is the host for this year's event.

On Wednesday, we celebrate Canada Day and are hopefully reminded of how fortunate we are to be Canadian. We will be touring the city with our drive-by procession - saluting our health care workers and the residents in the long term care facilities throughout the city - leaving from the Bayview Mall at 11 am and ending at Jane Forrester park where we'll recognize those essential workers nominated by the community.

Trent Valley Distributors gets $10K grant from Canadian Chamber of Commerce and Salesforce
The Canadian Chamber of Commerce announced 62 $10,000 grant recipients from its Canadian Business Resilience Network Small Business Relief Fund today, including Trent Valley Distributors, celebrating their 40 th anniversary this year. As a restaurant/kitchen supplies distributor, their business has had to shift during the pandemic and while cleaning supplies have always been part of their product line, they’ve also become experts in sanitization.
 
“We are thrilled to have been selected as a recipient for the CCC grant. Trent Valley Distributors has been a member of the Belleville Chamber of Commerce for 30 years and take great pride in our partnership. This grant will allow us to further develop our sanitation division and provide us with the funding needed to expand our line and give back to the community. Thank you to the Canadian Chamber of Commerce and especially Jill Raycroft and Lisa Grills from our local chamber for supporting small businesses like Trent Valley during these unprecedented times. The past few months have been very difficult for so many people and we can’t wait to put this money to great use” says Chris Auger, owner of Trent Valley Distributors. Chris purchased the business last year.
