CHAMBER CHAT - Week of November 16
Let's Do Lunch - November 25
Last week I asked you to "save the date" for Wednesday, November 25 as we hoped to resume our scheduled breakfast event - or what that may look like in the midst of a pandemic.

We've opted to keep it virtual as we look forward to presenting a Lunch Watch Party now with recorded interviews of our QBAA winning members - last year, this was a great conversation as a panel - this year, we'll have a few minutes with each of them as they share their journey to recognition and achievement.

Lunch is included with your registration - three of our member restaurants will offer a variety of choices - and we'll schedule delivery to arrive in time for you to join our event at 12:00 via Zoom on Wednesday!

Continued thanks to Bell & Trenval for supporting this "virtual" approach - our breakfasts have always been a way for us to connect you with each other and connect those who support business with you. As we continue to move through the pandemic, with numbers rising and the fear of another lockdown ever present, both Bell and Trenval are here to help business transition to this new normal and a different work environment.

  • Occasionally, we get a request for a mailing list - which we can't provide - BUT we do have a great bulk mailing rate and we'd be happy to get your message out there just in time for the holiday shopping season. Do you have something special you're offering that you'd like fellow members to know about? See our Holiday Snail Mail Campaign below..

TRENVAL to Offer Regional Relief and Recovery Fund
for Businesses Affected by COVID-19

Last May, the Government of Canada announced the Regional Relief and Recovery Fund (RRRF ). This Fund was introduced to support small businesses in rural communities that were being negatively impacted by COVID-19. Trenval Business Development Corporation received $994,888 at that time, and it was disbursed to support 32 local small businesses in the Quinte Region.

On November 10, the Government of Canada announced an extension to this program, providing another $1.2 million to Trenval.

The Regional Relief and Recovery Fund provides interest-free repayable loans to help small and medium sized businesses with fixed operating costs , where business revenues have been affected by the pandemic. If the loan is paid in full by December 31, 2022, 25% of the loan will be forgiven. Full details of the eligibility criteria can be found at Trenval’s website (www.trenval.ca).

Applications are now being received and will be addressed on a first come, first served basis. For more information, contact [email protected]
