or questions.

Even though we're in lockdown, we know you're all busy behind closed doors and we continue to work on serving your needs from our home offices (my kitchen table). That means a bit of zooming... and pulling together a list of links and other resources you might find useful.

A quick overview of what you'll find below:
  • a poll about attending our virtual President's Dinner & Cornerstone Awards event
  • the 2021 Membership Guide (renewal notices coming out on Friday)
  • watch our call with the Hastings Prince Edward Health Unit
  • registration for an update with MPP Todd Smith (limited space so don't wait)
  • the EmployerOne Survey - your input here is extremely important as it provides us with real local data on what is happening with local employment needs
  • the BizQuest video contest - the pandemic has forced many of us to get into creating video content already - this contest really pays!
  • the Ontario Economic Report (Jan 28)
  • Town Hall with Minister Lisa MacLeod (Feb 3)
  • Fireside Chat with Leader of the Opposition, Erin O'Toole (Feb 5)

VACCINES are certainly a topic of intense conversation - and a light at the end of this pandemic tunnel. Follow the plan here with the Ontario government's real time update on vaccines; the province’s three-phased distribution plan; and, information on vaccine safety: https://covid-19.ontario.ca/covid-19-vaccines-ontario

The City is also in the process of planning their next virtual career fair - they just need you to answer one question to ensure their efforts support your needs best.
They kindly ask that you complete the survey link below by
Friday, January 22.

and at the very end of this newsletter, a link to the video where Mayor Mitch Panciuk and CrimeStoppers Quinte Board Chair, Bill Glisky, recognized 9 families who made a special difference with their entries into the Home for the Holidays Decorating Contest.

A little sidebar, in our conversation with the Health Unit on Tuesday, they shared their absolute appreciation for the work we are doing as a community to keep our numbers low and this pandemic under control. They recognize the challenge this places on business and look forward to being ready to move out of the lockdown into Green as soon as possible.

And finally, let's not forget the significance of this day in the United States. We know how hard our government representatives worked to maintain trade relationships within the US while they weren't always supported at the leadership level... we move forward with hope the new President will overcome the discord and return a spirit of unity to our neighbours to the south.

Take good care!
