Week of August 6, 2019
Look what happened while I was away!!! We had the opportunity to get a couple of pieces of furniture and as a result, completely revamped the main floor layout at the Log Cabin. Thanks to Joe Shunock for access to the furniture, Wally Zachariah from the Habitat Restore for taking away the furniture we didn't need and LaPalm Moving Systems for helping us bring the new to the Cabin. Of course - Matt, Susan and Rosi deserve the credit for figuring out where and how it would fit - it really looks pretty good!

After a week of being unplugged, I'm looking forward to bearing down to some solid work with preparing our accreditation submission and pulling together details for the Fall events - though we're just starting August and we have a good month of summer ahead of us still, we all know it will hit quickly. Take the time to save the dates noted below and we'll continue to keep you posted on the specifics.

I hope you enjoyed a great long weekend (and perhaps even extended that into a nice holiday this week).

I certainly hope to see you next Wednesday at Crate Marine for our Member Appreciation Mingle - where we thank you - and recognize one of our longstanding members with our Cornerstone Citizenship Award.

TOBACCO AND VAPING WORKING GROUP CONSULTATIONS UNDERWAY

This fall, the OCC will release a report that examines Ontario’s tobacco and vaping industries. To develop this report, the OCC has formed a Tobacco and Vaping Working Group to help shape the content and recommendations to government.

Potential report themes include: contraband tobacco and counterfeit vaping products; taxation; private sector investment in research and innovation; and public health and youth access. Consultations commenced in late June and will continue over the summer and in early fall.

If your organization is interested in participating in the Tobacco and Vaping working group, please contact (click link)
