This is the first year in many that graduation will be held at home. The date is May 19 at 2 p.m. in the new Kearney High School gym. You will need a ticket to be admitted, but it would be a great week-end for some of our businesses to be open longer hours or to offer specials to all of the families that will be coming to Kearney for this event. It is a great way to promote our town and local flavor.

The Kearney Food Pantry has been busy, and the excitement of looking for a new building has been fun. We don't have any news yet, but if you know of anyone with a building of approx. 2700 sq. ft. in the downtown area please let us know. Attached is the Pantry needs list . If you are able we would appreciate your help. As summer approaches, and families engage in their summer activities, donations for the Pantry go down...but the need is still there. Summer Food bags for kids under 18 will start on June 6th.

Please see the attached Clay County bid opportunity information announcing the current bid opportunities available through the Clay County Purchasing Department. In efforts to keep tax dollars local, Kearney Chamber Members to encouraged to frequently explore the county’s solicitations and to submit bids or proposals accordingly.

Tracy Tucker - State Farm is partnering with Dogs by Debin during the month of May. They will donate $10 for every new household quote who mentions this promotion.
