NEWS FROM YOUR LOCAL CHAMBER

We tend to concentrate on National and Statewide elections when it should be the exact opposite. The closer to home, the larger the impact. In short? You should pay more attention to your city and county elections than anything else. Don't know your local candidates too well? Don't fear...the Chamber is here! Mark your calendars for THIS Tuesday where you will get to meet and hear from our local candidates during our candidate forum.

WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT / EDUCATION

Collaboration is a must as we continue to work together in the developing new programs aimed at ensuring our community has the resources needed to succeed. Huge thanks to Southern Crescent Technical College, our own Butts County School systems, and local businesses for working hand in hand to make an impact for the GREATER GOOD.

What happens when you combine workforce development, mentorship, support of local businesses, and local charitable organizations coming together to make a difference?

Our community has made significant steps recently to bring partnerships into fruition for the benefit of all and the greater good of the community. Fashion for Our Future fashion show is a collaboration which brings to focus and sheds light on the importance of planting seeds for the future success of our Butts County Community.

How can we as citizens of Butts County ensure that we make a lasting impact in the protection and preservation of our community without giving back?

The simple answer is—we can’t.

In an effort to support our local businesses during “Shop Small Business Saturday," scheduled for November 30th, all partnering organizations are committed to taking a “big picture” approach to ensure that our future generation understands the importance of what it means to support the local community, while gaining unique insight and firsthand experience into an industry they hope to pursue. This hybrid approach will not only support our local small businesses but educate the community, most importantly, our students on ways to give back through local charities and offer an opportunity for mentorship and workforce development.

We are pleased to announce this collaboration with the Butts County School system, non-profit charitable organizations, and local businesses to promote, educate and connect the community through a fun, collaboration of all vested parties. Planting seeds today will bear fruit in the future and benefit our community for the greater good. Huge thanks to our many partners for stepping up to this newly developed program which we have no doubt will benefit all involved.
