Championing business and stronger communities

Our Chamber exists to be the catalyst for business growth, the convener for leaders and influencers, and the champion of business and stronger communities. In order to support our members and the local businesses of Puyallup and Sumner, we are:

  • Finding ways to connect while keeping social distance and other best practices. In light of recent bans on gatherings, we are turning our March 31 Lunch & Learn into a virtual event - more info later in this newsletter. We’re also finding it necessary to suspend formal Chamber Wake Ups for the time being. That said, if you are feeling healthy and you wish to support local businesses, you might consider visiting Electric Coffee House for your favorite coffee beverage to go.

  • Calling all local small businesses: We want to amplify your messages and we want to hear from you. Please keep us informed of any specials or promotions your business is offering. We will promote those at puyallupsumnerchamber.com/support-local and will provide ways for those in our community to barter services if they choose to do so.
Social distancing? Dining room closures?
Here’s how you can support local eateries!

Our friend Sue Kidd of dinepiercecounty.com (formerly of The News Tribune) has compiled a spreadsheet of Pierce County restaurants with takeout. self-delivery or third party delivery. The spreadsheet is public and shareable and can be found here: https://bit.ly/2ISyH7D

If you’re a restaurant owner and you would like to be included on the list, email [email protected]. Restaurant owners should include name, address, phone number, website, details of takeout and any self delivery or third party delivery, such as Uber Eats, Door Dash, etc.
City of Puyallup & Puyallup Main Street Association take measures to support restaurants providing takeout

Is your restaurant providing takeout? The City of Puyallup & Puyallup Main Street Association want to help you by making it easier for patrons to park & pick up! Here's how: They are providing cones that restaurant owners can place in front of their business to reserve parking for customers to use when picking up takeout (or curbside pickup).

Cones can be picked up at the Chamber office starting Wednesday, March 18. Please call or email ahead to confirm pickup at (253) 845-6755 or [email protected].

Please note the Chamber is operating on a modified schedule, 10am - 3pm Monday-Friday.

It is safe to donate blood: A message from Cascade Regional Blood Services

Cascade Regional Blood Services (CRBS) is the sole provider of blood products for MultiCare Health System. It is imperative that healthy individuals continue to donate to minimize disruptions to the blood supply.

CRBS’ donation centers in Tacoma, Puyallup, and Federal Way are operating on normal business hours. If you are healthy and have not donated in the past 56 days, or have never donated before, please consider donating.

The coronavirus does not pose any risk to blood donors, either during the donation process or from attending organized blood drives. Cascade Regional Blood Services is the place where healthy people gather to save lives.
