Chamber/City/County COVID-19 business resource teleconference
This week we'll learn about work being done locally to help communities quickly detect and respond to a resurgence of Covid-19. Representatives from a Pierce County non-profit biotech lab, RAIN Incubator, will discuss their efforts to develop an antibody and waste water sewage testing Early Warning System that has been the subject of national press coverage.
We'll also look at coronavirus in the manufacturing environment, with an expert to help guide this sector back to work safely and what that means with regard to supply chain management, cleaning procedures, packaging and product quality, among other things.
Panelists confirmed so far:
- David Hirschberg, PhD, Founder, RAIN Incubator
- Tenley Cederstrand, RAIN board member
- Benjamin Streifel, PhD, Senior Scientist, Exponent
We'll also have representatives from Pierce County, City of Puyallup and City of Sumner, among others.

Our
Chip In With the Chamber
program, which has been dedicated to delivering meals to local heroes serving the community during the pandemic, is expanding to help support local, small business owners forge a path toward re-opening.
In order to re-open safely, small businesses will need to navigate a variety of issues, including obtaining PPE, cleaning, and other supplies.
When you chip in, 100% of your donations will go toward the two initiatives: Sponsoring meals for local heroes and also helping small businesses in need with PPE and other supplies they will need to open safely. We have already procured some supplies that we plan to distribute and we hope to purchase more.
Last week, we delivered food to the folks at
Sumner Senior Center.
The staff and volunteers serve 45+ meals every day, countless wellness check phone calls and send homemade “thinking of you” cards to seniors in the community. We purchased boxed lunches from
The Savory and Sweet.
This week, we're working with Nothing Bundt Cakes to deliver treats to the Puyallup Food Bank.
