The Grande Prairie & District Chamber of Commerce is hosting a pair of Government of Alberta Red Tape Reduction Roundtables on Wednesday, September 11, and Monday, September 16, 2019.

The discussions will run from 2:00 - 3:30 PM on September 11 and from 7:00-8:30 PM on September 16 at Centre 2000 (11330 - 106 Street, Grande Prairie) in the Al Robertson Room on the main floor.

Tracy Allard, MLA for the Grande Prairie Constituency, is "asking each participant to help identify areas where business owners use unnecessary time and resources to comply with regulatory requirements imposed by legislation, regulations, associated policies and forms.

Each participant will be allotted 3 – 4 minutes to verbally inform the group on their ideas to cut red tape, get Albertans back to work and save everyone valuable time."

Participants are also asked to provide a written submission to ensure remarks are captured thoroughly. The findings will be shared with the Honourable Grant Hunter, Associate Minister of Red Tape Reduction .

Questions to keep in mind in preparing for the roundtable:
  1. What is the problem?
  2. What is the solution?
  3. How many jobs will this create? How will this impact compliance costs? How much regulatory burden does this take away?
