Wide vaccination adoption is the best way to ensure our economy can fully reopen. The Peoria City/County Health Department maintains a list of public vaccine clinics available in Peoria, Woodford and Tazewell counties here. Moderna, Pfizer, and Johnson & Johnson available - all are safe & effective. All individuals 18 years+ are eligible to receive a FREE Moderna or Johnson & Johnson vaccine. The Pfizer vaccine is available to anyone 12+ years of age and has been approved by the FDA. (More Info here)

Peoria Symphony Orchestra Announces Charter Partnership with the Madison Theater
The Peoria Symphony Orchestra (PSO) is proud to announce it has partnered with the Madison Theater as a Charter Organization that will represent the spectrum of performing arts and host a minimum of six events per year at the Madison Theater. This partnership will be an expansion of the PSO's current venues, the Peoria civic Center and Grace Presbyterian Church.

Locally produced Self Made with Dee Brown CEO joined the WTVP Business Block Line-Up March 2, 2020. Hosted by business owner, producer, nonprofit leader, philanthropist and author Dee Brown, the half-hour, weekly interview program featured Central Illinois and nationally renowned business and organizations leaders.
The new program featured inspirational interviews of individuals who started from ordinary circumstances and went on to achieve extraordinary success in their respective fields. From business, to entertainment, to sports, Dee Brown discussed the stories of those who are living the American Dream.

Comcast RISE Applications Now Open To All Women-Owned Small Businesses
Comcast announced earlier this year that its Comcast RISE program is open to all women-owned businesses in its greater Chicago Region, which includes Illinois, Northern Indiana and Southwest Michigan. The expansion of Comcast RISE to women-owned businesses furthers the company's efforts to advance digital equity and help provide underrepresented small business owners with access to the digital tools and funding they need to thrive.
Comcast RISE, which recently celebrated its one-year anniversary; is open to racially and ethnically diverse small business owners and all women owned businesses. More information and the application to apply for marketing and technology services are available at www.ComcastRISE.com.

Small Business Tax Savings: SALT Workaround - SB2531
SB2531 Amends the Illinois Income Tax Act. Provides that a partnership or Subchapter S corporation may elect to pay a tax computed by multiplying the share of business income apportionable to Illinois and nonbusiness income allocated to Illinois that is distributable to each partner or shareholder and multiplied by the applicable rates of tax for that partner or shareholder. Creates a deduction in an amount equal to those amounts. Effective immediately.

Peoria Historical Society Annual Trivia Fundraiser
Trivia Fundraiser is March 26 at the Illinois Valley Yacht and Canoe Club, 5102 N. Galena Road, Peoria Heights. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m., and eight rounds of trivia will begin at 6:30 p.m.
Tickets are $25 and are available at 309tix.com or by calling the historical society at (309) 674-1921. Participants may pre-order a dinner. Beverages and snacks will be available to purchase. H Wayne Wilson of WTVP-TV will emcee the event. “Everyone is welcome to come see how much they know about Peoria or discover new information they didn’t know about the city,” said event organizer Beth Johnson. Questions will explore Peoria history and examine the city of today, she said.
The new exhibit at the Peoria Historical Society tiled, "Picturesque Peoria Through the Artist's Lens" run 9am-6pm Monday-Saturday, March 3-31 at the Peoria Public Library downtown branch, 107 NE Monroe St. The exhibit features historic and contemporary artwork celebrating the distinctiveness of the Peoria area, including its rivers and bridges, parks, iconic city structures and pastoral rural scenes. Admission is free.
