With all this growth, excitement and media attention lately, the new, local non-profit Navarro Farm still has a long way to go to reach its goals. They are seeking donations to make their Greenhouse a reality, and at this point, things are dangerously close to them having to pause their programming for the winter as they may not have enough funding and resources in place to get their greenhouse built in time. They are seeking donations so they can make this happen sooner than later so their Farmers will continue to grow year round.
Navarro Farm provides transformative agriculture and animal adventures for children and young adults impacted with special needs, and their families.

The Foundation provides financial assistance to families in need who have children with developmental disabilities. All proceeds benefit the Foundation.

Genealogy for Beginners on Tue. Sep. 7 at 2pm & 6pm. Have you always wanted to search your family’s roots but not sure where to start? Librarian Jill Ganeshan will acquaint you with numerous online tools & effective search techniques in this basic, hands-on session. She will introduce you to the two largest genealogy databases, Ancestry & Family Search, and help you find your people.
Nonfiction at Night (In-person) on Mon. Sep. 13 at 7pm. Join us to discuss Guest House for Young Widows: Among the Women of ISIS by Azadeh Moaveni. In early 2014, the Islamic State clinched its control of Raqqa in Syria. Baghdadi, the leader of ISIS, urged Muslims around the world to come join the caliphate. This is the story of the young women who heeded his call. But instead of finding a land of justice and piety, they found themselves trapped within the most brutal terrorist regime of the twenty-first century, a world of chaos and upheaval and violence. Print copies of the book are available at the Library's Circulation Desk.
Terrific Trees on Tue. Sep. 14 at 10am. An outdoor nature field trip for adults. Trees are incredible and provide so much for humans and the environment. Join along with a Forest Preserve District of Will County Naturalist to find trees in the Hickory Creek preserve and get to know how to tell them apart. Please call Frankfort Library if you have a question about the location.
