Volume 43 | June 30, 2021

Members and Supporters,

I hope the month of June has been a spectacular Pride month and wonderful celebration. Speaking of...what a celebration! It was an amazing Pride In Business Celebration last week! Thank you to our incredible sponsors and congratulations to our 2021 Pride In Business Award Honorees! Read more about the event recap in this issue.

Who’s ready to connect in-person?!?!? We are! Check out the events calendar for upcoming events. While some events in July will be virtual, we are also starting in-person events as well and will add to these throughout the rest of 2021. We can’t wait to see all of our members (and many new members we've not met yet!) at upcoming in-person events.

We’ll continue to have some virtual events for the Chamber, including opportunities for members who are outside of the inner core of Houston, to engage with the Texas LGBTQ Chambers of Commerce and more. Since virtual events, in some form, will be part of the new norm for most organizations, those who engage via a virtual format will be well prepared to take advantage of this new norm in our world both personally and from a business perspective. Participating in both in-person and virtual events is definitely one way to maximize your membership!

As we continue to celebrate the Chamber’s five year anniversary this year, check out the
5 Year Anniversary Page to see the videos, proclamations, highlights of our inaugural members, photos throughout the years and so much more.

With Pride,
Tammi Wallace
Co-Founder and President & CEO

A TEXAS RAINBOW STICKER
Read Chamber President & CEO, Tammi Wallace's, annual Pride Month blog post.
“With Pride Month fast approaching, I was recently reflecting about Pride and what it means and the symbolism of celebrating Pride Month but also the Rainbow Flag. I came out in 1995 at the age of 27. It was an agonizing 27 years for me in so many ways to live closeted. I couldn’t be my full and authentic self with family, with friends and in the workplace. Honestly, it’s a very painful way to live denying a part of who you are because it literally takes pieces of you every day.” Read more
