The Chamber is excited to announce its lineup for the 2022 Concerts on the Green series The free concerts are held Sunday evenings from Father’s Day to the end of August at Breidert Green in historic downtown Frankfort. They are well attended and attract many visitors from surrounding suburbs. Attendance ranges from 600 to 1000 people each week.
Independent, private sponsors, such as you, make this fine program possible. Since 1998, we have asked for your support so that we may continue to offer an array of high quality entertainment.

Half Marathon and 10k on Saturday May 14. The race begins and endsat Breidert Green in downtown Frankfort, and is run largely on the beautiful Old Plank Trail!

Frankfort Community Garage Sale: Saturday, June 4 at 9:00 am - 3:00 pm throughout the Frankfort Park District Community. $10 per home. Registration Deadline: May 27. Each registered participant’s address will be included on a list of all participating homes. This list will be available at the park office, website and Facebook the week of the sale. The park district will advertise the sale in local newspapers, on-line sites and A-frame signs throughout the community. Each participating home will receive a packet including a garage sale sign, balloons, map of Frankfort subdivisions and garage sale selling tips. These packets will be available for pick-up at the Founders Community Center at time of registration.
Movies On The Green - The Secret Life of Pets 2 (PG): Wednesday, June 8 at Dusk, approx. 8:15pm at Breidert Green, White & Kansas Street. FREE! The Movies on the Green are back on Wednesdays! Grab a blanket or chair and head out to Breidert Green for a FREE family movie night under the stars. Movies on the Green will be featuring movies for the entire family to enjoy. Please note: No pets or alcoholic beverages are allowed. Rain Date: One week after the original show date. *Movies on the Green are co-sponsored by the Frankfort Park District, the Village of Frankfort & Frankfort Chamber of Commerce.
Unplug At The Parties In The Park - Schools Out for Summer!: Monday, June 13 at 6:00 - 7:30 pm at Brookmeadow Park, Elise Blvd. & Mary Dr. * FREE Family Fun! Join the Frankfort Park District each month this summer as you unplug from electronics and have outdoor fun at the Parties in the Park. There will be outdoor games, activities including a DJ Dance Party and much more fun! *Park locations are subject to change. Please visit our website for updates. 22nd Annual Short Run on a Long Day 5k Run/Walk: Wednesday, June 22 at 7pm at Main Park. Registration Fee:
$22 Pre-Registration (by 5pm 6/15) * $30 (after 6/15-Race Day)
Race Packet Pick-up will be at the Founders Community Center on Tuesday, June 21 from 10am-6pm, and Wednesday, June 22 from 9am-2pm and 5:30 - 7pm at Main Park.

Frankfort Country Market, Sundays t hrough Oct. 30 (no market on July 10 or September 4), 9 am-1pm,1 N White Street and Breidert Green Parking Lots. Throughout the season, the market welcomes nearly 50 vendors selling produce, cut flowers, plants, honey, meat, poultry, seafood, dairy, baked goods, canned goods, hot foods and more. Enjoy live entertainment each week from 10 AM to 1 PM.

Let's Talk About It: Women's Suffrage on Tue. May 10 at 7pm. In our fourth discussion, we get an in-depth look at Ida B. Wells-Barnett, written by her great-granddaughter, journalist Michelle Duster. Ida B. the Queen: The Extraordinary Life and Legacy of Ida B. Wells is a historical portrait of the boundary-breaking civil rights pioneer that covers Wells' early years as a slave, her famous acts of resistance, and her achievements as a journalist and anti-lynching activist. Leading our discussion series is Joshua Fulton, Associate Professor of History, Moraine Valley Community College. Let’s Talk About It: Women’s Suffrage is a humanities discussion project from the American Library Association (ALA) supported by the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH).
Virtual Program: Digging for Clues with Cemetery Research on Wed. May 11 at 7pm. Learn how to inexpensively find a relative's final resting place with genealogist Dan Niemiec. Dan has spent thousands of hours and hundreds of trips looking for relatives near and far at cemeteries in Chicagoland and elsewhere. He will share tips on communicating with the cemetery office, the grounds, the mausoleum, and dealing with the weather. This program is appropriate for all genealogy skill levels.
Illinois Libraries Present: Michelle Zauner on Wed. May 18 at 7 pm. Join us for an evening with musician and author Michelle Zauner as she discusses her music career and her beloved bestselling memoir, Crying in H Mart. Jessica Hopper joins her in conversation. This event is made possible by Illinois Libraries Present, a statewide collaboration among public libraries offering high-quality events. Funding for this grant was awarded by the Illinois State Library, a Department of the Office of Secretary of State, using funds provided by the U.S. Institute of Museum and Library Services, under the provisions of the Library Services and Technology Act (LSTA). This event will take place online on Zoom. Register for this program via Zoom.
