INTERNSHIP SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM
The Frankfort Chamber of Commerce has developed an Internship Scholarship Program and will be joining forces with Lincoln-Way East’s Co-Op program. The goal of this program is to partner with Chamber businesses that are interested in offering aspiring students the opportunity to intern with your business. We hope that by taking on an intern, you and your team will be able to inspire our future leaders and give them hands-on experience and a bit of insight into your profession.
If you are interested in applying to be one of our flagship internships businesses, please complete the attached application and submit it no later than December 15, 2022.

The church is located at 1900 E. Lincoln Highway, New Lenox (on U.S. Hwy 30, directly across the street from Lincoln-Way Central High School, or via Schoolhouse Rd. & the Atrium Point complex.)
If you know of others who could benefit from the dinner, please encourage them to attend. Transportation will be available, so please let us know if a ride is needed. We also deliver to the homebound in the area. (For those interested, there will be a Thanksgiving worship service with communion at 11:30).

Frankfort Public Library District offers a variety of programs each month. Here are some of the upcoming offerings.
Community Cookie Swap: Share Your Recipe! Accepting recipes through Dec. 3. Holiday baking is just around the corner! Use the Google Forms link to share your favorite cookie recipe and help us create a collection of cookie ideas for the community. You will be able to browse and pick up links or print copies of submitted recipes from the display case near the main entrance of the library between November 1 and November 30, 2022. Grief, Depression, & the Holidays on Thu. Dec. 1 at 10 am. Join us for a 60-minute presentation about navigating life’s worst moments during the 'most wonderful time of the year.' Don Pinkston of Martin Therapy Group will focus on exploring the nature of grief and will offer some techniques for dealing with loss during the holiday season. He will also share how people can regain hope and find solutions for creating meaningful changes in their lives.
The Essential Christmas Carol on Thu. Dec. 1 at 7 pm. Join us for a holiday classic! In this storytelling lecture, William Pack will perform a reading of A Christmas Carol using a script derived from Charles Dickens' 1867 abridged reading copy and enhanced with a modern recreation of a magic lantern slide show popular during Dickens’ lifetime. Following the reading, there will be a Q&A to explore the curious origins and motivations behind the story. This program is best suited for patrons aged 12 and older.
Peaceful Sound Bath on Tue. Dec. 6 at 7 pm. Join us for a unique & relaxing sound meditation with musician and sound healer, Preston Klik. Immerse yourself in the healing sounds of numerous dynamic instruments such as crystal bowls, handpan, rattles, Reverie harp, Native American flutes, tanpura, monochord, chimes, ocean drum, and gong. This evocative sound-journey is designed to release emotions in the body, bring about peace-filled solace, and a sense of closure. Please bring a yoga mat, blanket, and a pillow if you’d like. Chairs will be available.

Letters to Santa: Due Date is December 1 by 5:00 pm. Park District Residents Only! Starting November 21, Santa’s mailbox will be displayed at the Founders Community Center. Santa will personally write to each family who writes him a letter, provided that all letters are received by 5:00 pm on Thursday, December 1. Santa can only send letters to children who include the following: child’s full name, address, city, zip code and of course, their wish list! Parents, please complete checklist when sending the letter. Checklists will be available at the main office or on the Park District website. Please address letters to: Santa Claus, 25 Candy Cane Lane, North Pole (c/o Frankfort Park District, 140 Oak Street, Frankfort, IL 60423).
Santa Photos & Workshop: Saturday, December 10; Session I: 11:30 am - 12:00 pm, Session II: 12:00 - 12:30 pm, Session III: 12:30 - 1:00 pm at the Founders Community Center - 140 Oak Street. All Ages: $7/NR $12 per child. Santa is making a special appearance at the Founders Community Center. There will be crafts, holiday themed games and a chance to visit with Santa. Remember to bring your cameras. There are three time slots available, please specify time on registration form. Registration Deadline: December 7.
Paws With Claus: Saturday, December 10 from 1:15 - 1:45 pm at the Founders Community Center - 140 Oak Street. All Ages: $2 per dog family. Bring your friendly family pet and your camera for a holiday photo opportunity with Santa Claus. All pets MUST be on a leash. Please bring a pet item to be donated to Cache Creek Animal Rescue. No registration required.
Deck The Paws Holiday Photo Contest: Frankfort Park District Facebook Page. Deadline: Photo submission - December 16. Voting: December 19 - 21. Show us a picture of your furry family member showing off their holiday spirit! To enter, simply email your photo to [email protected]. Be sure to include your names (both yours and your pet), your email address and your phone number. Once your photo is received, we will post it to the Frankfort Park District’s Facebook Contest Photo Album (within 72 hours) and email you a confirmation. Once you have received the confirmation email, tag your photo in the album, share it, and encourage your family and friends to vote. The photo that receives the most “likes” will win a prize. Come join the holiday fun!

Emagine
Come join us for the Sensory Friendly program at Emagine. This sensory-friendly special program makes going to the movies a more enjoyable and accessible experience for those with sensory needs. What does this mean? First, it means sensory friendly (lights up a bit, sound down a bit). Second, audience interaction (movement, speaking, singing) and electronic device (phone, tablet, etc.) usage are allowed. Third, guests are welcome to bring a safe snack for any food allergies or food avoidance/restrictions.

Chicago Stem Cell Therapy & Pain Management Institute
Dr. Zaki Anwar, founder of Chicago Stem Cell Therapy, is hosting free presentations to help you understand regenerative therapy and answer your questions. We will explain how our office provides conservative pain management treatments as well as stem cells and platelet-rich plasma (PRP) injections. From 4-5 pm every 3rd Thursday, we invite you to come see our office, talk with Dr. Anwar, and learn about your pain management options. Light appetizers and drinks will be served (on October 20, November 17, and December 15).
