March 2, 2021- Governor Greg Abbott announced that effective March 10, all businesses can be open at 100% capacity in Texas and the facial mask mandate will also be lifted. However, the Governor stated that Texans must continue to use personal responsibility to protect themselves and those around them from COVID-19, and further stated that county judges would have the ability to make changes to these orders if the county’s hospitalization rate for COVID cases was above 15% for 7 straight days.
